About This Pub
Ah, The Cherry Tree in Wishaw – it's one of those neighbourhood gems that really pulls you in with its warm atmosphere and that genuine sense of community. I love how the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for some food; it's all about those little touches that make a visit memorable. The food's held up well in the reviews I've seen, with a good mix of options that hit the spot, and being dog-friendly adds a lovely extra layer for those of us with furry companions. They're also brilliant at organising events and getting people involved, which keeps things buzzing throughout the week. On the flip side, though, it does feel a tad overpriced for what you get compared to other local spots, and if you're after more vegan choices, you might be left wanting – it's mostly just the basics there. Still, with its solid 4.2 rating and those late hours until midnight every day, it's a reliable choice for a relaxed night out, and I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the area, just keep those points in mind for a balanced experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff at The Cherry Tree are absolutely lovely and always welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a fantastic spot for dog lovers, with a real pet-friendly vibe and even dog bowls available behind the bar.
-
They've got a great selection of food on the menu, and from what I've heard, it's been spot on lately, with plenty of variety to choose from.
-
The pub keeps things lively with regular events and community get-togethers, which is a nice touch for getting the locals involved.
-
Prices are pretty reasonable, especially considering the current economic squeeze, and they've got a good pint like Tennents on tap at a fair price.
Cons
-
It can feel a bit on the pricey side for standard pub grub compared to some other places nearby, which might put off the budget-conscious.
-
Options for vegans are quite limited, with basically just chips and gravy on offer, so it might not suit everyone.
-
Their website seems to be playing up with some access issues, which could make it trickier to check out menus or events online beforehand.

Delighted to call this place my local pub. Every visit we are welcomed with a smile from the bar staff team and regulars. Dog friendly which is a major plus. Good variation on the menu and the food, especially lately, has been delightful.
See you all again very soon.
Love our little local! Always such a warm and friendly welcome for us, our children and our fur baby! The food is lovely, the entertainment is great and all the staff are just some of the friendliest and nicest people I’ve ever met!
It’s a pub so don’t expect anything fancy but the food was absolutely fine and the service was good and friendly. Slightly expensive for pub grub compared to some of the other local establishments but happy enough to recommend nevertheless.
