About This Pub

Ah, Raven's Cliff in Motherwell – it's one of those pubs that really hits the mark for a laid-back evening or a family meal, isn't it? From what I've gathered, it's got this smart, welcoming vibe that's perfect if you're popping in with the kids; their menu's packed with pub classics like fresh chicken, steak, and pizzas that sound just the ticket for satisfying everyone's tastes. I love that they've got a cracking selection of cask ales, wines, and spirits to unwind with, and the outdoor beer garden is a gem for those sunny days when you fancy dining al fresco. Plus, being dog-friendly means it's ideal for a stroll and a stop-off, and those 30% off mains deals are a brilliant way to keep things affordable without skimping on fun. On the upside, plenty of folks rave about the friendly staff who make you feel right at home, and if you're staying overnight, the rooms come across as clean and comfortable for a proper rest. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – a few have had a rough time with the food not living up to expectations, tasting a bit ordinary at worst, and service can sometimes fall flat if there's an issue. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth giving it a go, especially if you catch one of those offers, just keep in mind it might vary depending on the day. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub enthusiasts looking for a reliable spot in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a fantastic family-friendly spot with a kids' menu full of crowd-pleasers, making it easy to enjoy a meal with the little ones.
  • The staff are often described as friendly and attentive, with some going the extra mile to make you feel welcome.
  • They've got a lovely pub garden where you can soak up the sun and enjoy drinks and food outdoors – perfect for a relaxed gathering.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is a real treat if you're out with your four-legged mate, adding to that welcoming vibe.
  • Regular offers like 30% off mains make it a budget-friendly choice for a good night out or a hearty meal.
  • If you're staying over, the rooms are clean and comfy, ideal for a quick break or a weekend away.
Cons
  • Food quality can be inconsistent, with some finding it underwhelming or even like it came from the microwave, which is a bit disappointing.
  • Customer service isn't always spot on, as a few have mentioned it felt lacking or unresponsive when issues came up.
  • It might not always have that lively buzz, with some visits feeling a tad quiet, which could dampen the atmosphere on off days.

Took our new pup Archie along for his first experience visiting a dog friendly restaurant. All the staff we encountered throughout were great and made it a positive first experience for him, and we had a lovely meal with excellent service too. Will definitely be back very soon!!

First time visiting here and decided to give a try as we received 30% off vouchers contained on a flyer posted through the letterbox. It wasn’t particularly busy on our visit although one side of the restaurant had most of the tables occupied whilst the other half was empty. Given the location of the restaurant, unless you stay in the new nearby housing estate, it means driving here as there are no public transport links, at least for now. There was plenty of parking and a couple of Osprey rapid EV chargers. The food was fine, I had the Cowboy Burger which was quite tasty although the fries were a bit like McDonald’s chips. It was served on an unusual metal ashet type dish which I found a bit odd. We only had the one drink each, soft drink my other half and a pint of cider for myself served in a nice tall glass. All in all we will probably return but probably only if there is a similar special promotion as the food and atmosphere is typical of the other main chains like Brewers Fayre, Beefeater and the likes.
