About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Cavendish Arms – it's this gem of a pub tucked away in Brindle, Chorley, that's evolved into a proper lively spot over the years. They've put in some real effort with upgrades like the orangery and a revamped restaurant area, giving it that cosy, modern feel while still keeping the traditional charm. The food is where it truly shines; they've got a main menu packed with seasonal treats and a changing market menu that keeps things exciting, plus options for private dining if you're planning something special. The garden out back is just lovely for a bite on a nice day, and the team behind the bar and in the kitchen are always cheerful and attentive, making every visit feel personal. Of course, it's not without its little niggles – I've heard a few mentions of dishes not being cooked quite to perfection, and it can get heaving at times, so booking is a must. All in all, though, it's a fantastic place to pop in for a pint and a meal with mates, offering that perfect blend of good vibes and hearty grub without breaking the bank.
Pros and Cons

-
It's got a charming country vibe, with lovely upgrades like the stunning orangery and a beautiful garden that's perfect for sunny afternoons.

Great location in the heart of Brindle, easy to get to from Chorley or nearby areas, and they've sorted out excellent disabled access too.

They offer private dining options for special occasions, which is brilliant for family gatherings or events.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit overcooked now and then, like that burger mentioned in one review, which takes away from the experience slightly.
-
It gets pretty busy, so you'll want to book ahead to avoid disappointment, especially on weekends.

We enjoyed a lovely meal on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The salads were beautifully presented and really delicious. My vegetarian friend had the cauliflower katsu which was excellent.
The garden at the back has very nice and comfortable tables and chairs.
Staff were pleasant and friendly.
I haven’t been for years but will definitely return soon.
A lovely local pub. Went with my sister and mum for a belated birthday treat. Have been a few times and the food and service is always 100%. Would recommend booking a table as it is a popular venue and can get busy. I had the pork belly for my main and would highly recommend.
Amazing food. My new fave place. Can’t wait to return to try more dishes
Fantastic meal. Starter sharer board and thai fish cakes were lovely. Cheese pie was a proper pie (no fake pie top only). Fish chips was lovely and fresh with a light batter and duck was cooked perfectly. The burger was a little overdone for our liking and the blue cheese could have been stronger. Overall a great meal though.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time! Really can't fault anything, The starter especially was Amazing, it was black pudding with poach egg and a pulled pork cigar
