About This Pub
Ah, The Canon – it's one of those pubs in Bath that just draws you in with its lively energy and welcoming vibe, especially if you're up for watching some live sport or enjoying a cheeky cocktail in the sun. I have to say, the staff really shine through; they're incredibly attentive and work their socks off, even when the place is packed, which makes for some memorable visits. The food's a winner too – think hearty burgers and refreshing ciders that pair perfectly with a good chat. On the flip side, though, things can get a bit sluggish service-wise when it's heaving, and there might be the odd mishap with your order, like something missing from your plate. Still, it's a solid spot for groups or a casual catch-up, and with all the events on offer, it's worth popping in if you're in the area – just maybe book ahead for the full experience!

Good atmosphere but would like the rest of my bacon in my chicken & bacon burger...
Went for bottomless brunch, want to start out by saying how incredible Joe was. He worked his absolute socks off in an incredibly busy environment, a lot of the time working on his own or with other staff who just didn’t seem to understand that it was extremely busy and that people have paid for a service, for a bottomless brunch attentiveness and speed is key. Joe is an absolute credit to this place and he is the only reason this is a remotely positive review. We were on the verge of walking out and asking for a refund but could see he was trying to juggle so much and he made the experience worth staying for. It’s really not okay to offer bottomless brunches and then not have the staff to actually deal with the people. My advice would be to not offer them on concert days or have much more staff on with more urgency because yesterday was embarrassing for management of this pub. Please bear in mind £34 each is a lot of money and there were quite a lot of bottomless brunches running at the same time. People deserve to get what they paid for.
First of all, a huge shoutout to the young guy serving yesterday he was solely on his own serving a restaurant full of Robbie Williams goers, it was busy, most tables doing bottomless brunches and he was ran off his feet. The food and cocktails were delicious service was very slow as expected with one person on so a bit disappointing for lack of experience here due to that. Next time you know there is a big event perhaps ensure there are adequate staff 🙏🏼
Popped in today as have done many a time and headed up stairs to play darts and watch football as advertised. Top floor wasn't particularly busy and dart board available, stood to order drink and a member of staff walked behind me asked if we had a bottomless brunch booking, which I replied no, we just looking to grab a drink and play darts he replied it's bottomless brunch only uphear go play darts downstairs, I can't deal with you now as I'm doing booking and then flicked he's hand at me to usher me away. We went downstairs it was quiet but the dart board was like 4ft off the floor and had tables stacked in front of it and pushchairs totally unusable. I asked the staff downstairs if that's right we can't use the bar upstairs and they just said yeah as it seems I interrupted their conversation. So we just walked out.
I'd get it if there was a notice down the bottom of stairs or it was actually busy , but very quiet even upstairs with all your bottomless brunch business.
Cheers guys!
Popped in for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Bartenders were super friendly and welcoming. Food was hot, tasty and quick. Chill vibe.
Definitely recommend the ciders!
