About This Pub
Ah, The Butchers Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely, inclusive energy where everyone's chatting and enjoying the live music, and Josh really stands out as the heart of the place, making sure everything runs smoothly and guests feel looked after. The crowd's a nice blend of all ages, and it's spot-on if you're with your dog or in the mood for some decent grub that's a step up from the usual pub fare. On the flip side, it might come across as a tad more geared towards the lads sometimes, and there was that one instance where the draught ale wasn't up and running, which could put a dampener on things if you're specifically after it. All in all, with a solid 4.2 rating, it's worth a visit for a relaxed evening – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time, as long as you're up for that authentic pub charm mixed with a few minor niggles.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant, especially Josh who's always so welcoming and makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a fantastic vibe with live music that really brings people together, and there's a great mix of young and old folks enjoying themselves.
-
Being dog-friendly is a real winner – perfect for popping in with your four-legged mate for a pint and a chat.
-
The food's a treat when you fancy something more than just drinks; it's tasty and well-presented, even if it's not the bargain basement option.
Cons
-
It can feel a bit like a traditional blokes' spot at times, which might not suit everyone if you're after a more mixed or relaxed crowd.
-
There have been occasional hiccups with things like draught ale not being ready when expected, which can be a bit disappointing on a night out.

Lovely local pub..👍🏻
Great Pub, Great Music… Josh who now runs it Has turned the place around!
Nice staff, bit of a blokes boozer, sport on the tv. Went in because they do landlords on draught, told it wasn't on yet as the barrels had to settle, 2hrs later, still not on...poor, wasn't going to be on that evening. No draught ale, drank bottled London pride at a reasonable price, left to go to the mitre, down the road, very expensive pub, but always have the right beer and always good.

A proper pub, how refreshing! Great service, food wasn't cheap but was absolutely delicious, presented well without being rushed between courses. I recommend a visit if you're in the area. Big plus point is dog friendly!
Best pub in Barnet with by far the best, most welcoming and most attractive staff. Manager Josh is a true blessing to the establishment, if not pubs everywhere, if not planet Earth. Keep up the great work guys.
