About This Pub
Ah, Hadley House – it's one of those places in Barnet that just feels like a proper English gem, tucked away on the high street. From the reviews, most folks are raving about the food; it's versatile and packed with flavours from around the world, all served up in a beautiful, classic setting that makes you want to linger over a meal. The staff really shine too, going the extra mile to make everyone feel included, whether you're there for a romantic date, a family gathering, or even with little ones in tow – it's clear they put heart into the service. And don't get me started on the cocktails; they're spot on and pair brilliantly with the dishes, making for a top-notch experience overall. But, to keep it real, it's not all perfect – a few people have mentioned long waits for food during busy periods, like on Mother's Day, which could put a dampener on things if you're hoping for a quick bite. Still, with such a strong average rating, it's got that winning vibe for pub goers looking for something a bit special, as long as you plan ahead and go with the flow.

We had a fabulous evening at Hadley House from the minute we walked in. We were visiting my birthplace of Barnet and happened to be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary.
Owner Toni’s care and attention to detail made our experience so special.
We were seated at a lovely table. Wonderful menu and drink pairings.
We shared the delicious salt and pepper calamari appetizer, followed by the lamb cutlets main and Hadley Prawn main. We managed to save a little room for a dessert to share and went to the outside area to enjoy the crème brûlée, which slipped down easily!
Hadley House is a wonderfully surprising gem. The restaurant has many uniquely different areas to enjoy. We were particularly impressed with the retractable roof outside that allows for all weather enjoyment - critical for the good old English weather!!
Toni is a very interesting man who has lovingly curated a restaurant of note. He truly cares about making your visit enjoyable.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!
Me and my party of 11, came here roughly 2 weeks ago ( a special needs child included). We were amazingly shocked with the inclusivity not only with the food but the service, the waiting staff are kind and friendly. In addition the food is outstanding all food came out piping hot with bursts of flavour. Would come again.
If I could rate them 0 I would. Ten of us booked for our Mother’s Day meal today. Three mums in our party. After an hour, and one round of drinks, we asked how long the food would be ( three children in our party also) lots of shrugging of shoulders. They gave us a round of drinks on the house. The three children’s meals arrived. The kids ate their meals and we are still waiting for the adult meals. 40 mins later still no food and no communication. More shrugging of shoulders. We got up and walked out. Mother’s Day ruined for the whole family. Currently awaiting the arrival of a take away. Steer clear. Unprofessional and clueless as to how a restaurant should be run.
Edit: Just saw your reply to this. You are now backtracking and not being truthful. We had no starters! You must be confusing us with the other table that had starters before walking out. NO FOOD WAS SERVED TO THE ADULTS IN THIS GROUP IN TWO HOURS. Now take the review, own it, and move on.
Having eaten here a few times now with my wife and squishy, mischievous little one year old, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Food, excellent. Cocktails, delicious. Service, possibly the most welcoming, professional and downright swarthy dude this side of Venus. The price might put you off at a glance but for the love of God, don't let it! It's worth it, it is, I'm telling you, GO. TO. THIS. PLACE. AND. EAT. THERE... and also drink. DO IT.
