About This Pub
You know, I've been looking into The Bulls Head, and it's got that classic pub feel that just draws you in – think quaint and traditional with a fresh layout that makes it feel inviting without being stuffy. From the reviews, it sounds like they've nailed the menu with plenty of options that are affordable and, when done right, absolutely yummy and freshly cooked. The staff really stand out too; they're described as pleasant and efficient, which always makes a big difference when you're settling in for a meal or a drink. On the downside, it's not without its flaws – a few folks have mentioned meals being overcooked or not piping hot, and there were gripes about cheaper ingredients that didn't quite hit the mark. Still, with so many positive vibes overall, I'd say it's worth popping by if you're nearby, especially if you fancy trying their mixed grill based on the rave reviews. Just keep in mind it might be a mixed bag, so go in with an open mind and maybe chat with the bar about what's fresh that day.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The pub has a charming, traditional vibe that's been nicely freshened up, making it feel welcoming and homely.
-
They offer an inexpensive menu with a good variety of freshly cooked dishes that can be really tasty and satisfying.
-
The staff are friendly and provide great service, always ready with a smile and quick to check in.
Cons
-
Food quality can be inconsistent, with some meals coming out overcooked, dry, or not hot enough, which is a bit disappointing.
-
A few dishes use cheaper ingredients, like tinned peas, and there are suspicions that some items might be microwaved rather than properly prepared.
-
Experiences vary, so you might not always get that top-notch meal you were hoping for on a first visit.

Meals were ok . The first time here would go back. The staff seemed pleasant enough, and we were asked after we had eaten if we had finished with out drinks lol still half full , we had to laugh
I really liked this pub. First time visited.. It's quaint and traditional but at the same time fresh and nicely laid out inside. Really good inexpensive varied menu...freshly cooked and quite yummy... Great service and staff very nice... Will come again.
Was looking forward to a nice meal for 2, however was hugely disappointed - ordered a mixed grill and ribs - food came out in ten minutes - the meat was overcooked, dry and very cheap quality. Was of a standard we would except from our local chain pub. Tinned peas, microwaved food, the ribs were tough going.
No one came over to ask if our meal was adequate, even though it was quiet or when cleared away if everything was okay with our meal.
Also weeds growing out of the front and the beer garden looks run down.
It’s a shame as we came in February for the lunch menu and this is why we decided to come again.
Four of us had the carvery. Meat was a bit tough (or maybe new cutlery needed) great choice of vegetables, but not very hot. So he a while before we go again . Very disappointed
We visited for lunch and the whole experience was faultless
We ordered at the bar for 4 adults and 3 children and within 15 minutes we had our food!
The food itself was excellent. I highly recommend the mixed grill 👍
We will definitely be back
