About This Pub
Ah, The Builders Arms – it's one of those hidden gems in Teddington that really hits the spot for a relaxed pint or a catch-up with mates. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the staff are absolute stars, always up for a friendly natter and making sure everyone feels welcome, which adds to that homely feel with its beautiful interior, log fires, and a beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun. The drinks selection is spot on too, with plenty of locally sourced ales and a good range of wines, making it a brilliant choice for watching the footie or enjoying a game of darts. On the flip side, it does tend to get a bit rowdy when things liven up, which might not suit if you're after a peaceful evening, and on packed nights, you could find yourself waiting a while for service as the team gets swamped. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good time, but worth keeping in mind those busier moments if you're planning a visit – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself, as the positives definitely outweigh the niggles!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, including locally sourced cask ales and high-quality draught options, plus a fine wine list to suit all tastes.
-
The atmosphere is just lovely, with cosy log fires, a sun-trap beer garden, and a traditional interior that's full of character.
-
It's a great spot for watching live sports on decent screens, or even having a go at the darts board for some fun.
-
The redesign gives it a comfortable, almost homely feel, and it's family-friendly with activities like the scoring machine that kids enjoy.
Cons
-
It can get a bit too noisy at times, especially during events or parties, which might spoil a quiet chat.
-
Service can be stretched on busy nights, with the bar staff rushed off their feet, leading to longer waits for drinks.
-
The opening hours start a tad late in the day for some, like not kicking off until 3pm on weekdays, so it's not ideal for a lunchtime stop.

One of the best pubs in Teddington. Friendly staff, great beer selection, live sport and a superb atmosphere every time I've been. Thoroughly recommended.
Only just reopened, which is great. Visited to watch the rugby this afternoon as advertised as partly a sports bar, which really don't exist in Teddington. Not bad, some very good screens and decent atmosphere. The young guy behind the bar was run off his feet. My only personal plea is to stock a better cider than strongbow. Overall the place looks great and very happy to have a new pub opening locally. Best wishes for the future.
In all my years living in and around the area, I never even knew this place existed. Well what a find!!
Beautiful interior, a nod to yesteryear, with a classy modern feel. The darts board is high quality and the old school scoring machine is a brilliant addition. My kids loved adding up their scores and pushing the numbers into the machine.
So pleased to have found this place and will be back.
The redesigned venue is beautifully decorated and provides a comfortable feeling, almost as if you were at home! The dim yet not overly dark lighting allows you to sit and chat pleasantly. The fireplace adds a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The restrooms are very modern, elegantly designed, and spotlessly clean! The place feels like it was entirely designed with the guests' comfort in mind. It's a perfect spot to refresh yourself after work, enjoy a drink, and have a conversation. I prefer pink gin and elderflower, which are excellent choices. I highly recommend visiting this place! We can't wait to go back!
The party going on in one section of the bar had so much food ordered that we managed to fill up for free. Which is nice! Quick service on a busy night. Good range of beers at reasonable prices. It's recently reopened (I'm told) so that's good. Bit too noisy for me but I look forward to visiting again to get a better look at The Builders Arms.
