About This Pub

You know, chatting about The Bridge House, it's one of those dependable Wetherspoon pubs that really delivers on the basics without breaking the bank. I love how you can pop in for a hearty breakfast or a quick pint and not worry about the cost – it's all so reasonably priced, and the free refills on drinks just add to that feel-good factor. The place is massive too, so settling in with friends is a breeze, and they've got a solid range of beers and tasty food options that cater to vegetarians and more. On the other hand, it's not without its flaws; I've heard tales of waits stretching on, especially when it's packed, and one time someone mentioned their order going missing, which isn't ideal. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's a great go-to for a no-fuss night out in Belfast, as long as you keep expectations realistic for a busy spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The prices are absolutely spot on – you can get a cracking breakfast sandwich for just £4, making it brilliant value for a casual meal or drink.
  • It's got a really spacious layout with loads of tables, so you're pretty much guaranteed to find a seat, even when it's buzzing.
  • The food is top-notch, with fresh, hot options like small breakfasts and great vegetarian choices, plus free refills on coffees and soft drinks which is a lovely bonus.
  • There's a wide selection of beers and drinks, and the ability to order through an app means you can skip the queues at the bar.
  • The staff are generally helpful and the atmosphere feels welcoming, especially for a quick bite or a relaxed evening.
Cons
  • Service can drag a bit during peak times, like on a busy Saturday, where waits for food might leave you a tad frustrated.
  • Not every visit is perfect – sometimes orders don't turn up as expected, which can put a dampener on things.
  • It might not quite hit the mark for a traditional Irish pub feel, coming across as more straightforward British style, so if you're after real authenticity, it could fall short.

This is an excellent breakfast option. A breakfast sandwich is 4 pounds. Small breakfast 5 pounds. Free refills on all coffees and soft drinks. There’s a huge restaurant with lots of tables so you’re gonna find a seat. I highly recommend it.

While maybe not the greatest example of an Irish-cum-British pub, it's decent enough. Tasty food to be chosen from a wide menu, a great selection of beers available, an option of online ordering through app (unless you fancy queuing at the bar), plus everything being at exceptional prices if you check the daily promos - there's no reason not to like it. The tables get dirty at peak times, but that's a price you pay for the place's popularity and, mostly, affordability.

My partner and I arrived in Wetherspoons and ordered food at 5:37 on a Saturday, very aware of how busy it was. We ordered two baskets of chicken bites and a plate of chips, as well as two pitchers. The pitchers arrived within ten minutes. After waiting 40 minutes for our food, we asked a member of staff who said it was an hour wait for food. That’s fine, so we wait some more. After an hour and 45 minutes of waiting, I go to the bar to ask about our food. They don’t have our order, it’s not on their system, we’re told it could’ve been delivered to the wrong table. We’re offered a refund or to have our food remade and ask for it to be remade as we want the food we paid for. She said it was now a 15 minute wait for food. 25 minutes later our food arrived and I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and explained that it took over two hours for us to get our food. The manager that comes to our table proceeds to argue with us about how busy they’ve been despite explaining that it had been over a two hour wait for some chicken and chips, that they had delivered our order to the wrong table and we had to ask for it to be remade. He continued to argue with us saying that they had been busy all day and more people were still coming in- I said that there were empty tables now because it was no longer as busy as when we had arrived two hours earlier and that they had lost our order. He shrugged and said all he could do was apologise. They rest of the staff we spoke to were lovely and understanding, even customers beside us were angry on our behalf- the manager we spoke to was dismissive, argumentative and rude. We were offered no compensation, not even a free drink. The food and drinks were nice despite everything else.

My first JDW outside the UK main land. Really spacious, nice and cozy place. The Vegan January saved us not because we are vegan but because we are vegetarian. Nice vegetarian options and as usual nice drink selections. The cost compared to London was nothing! Service was good so were the staff. Surely recommend if you in Belfast.
