About This Pub

Oh, The Brewery Tap is one of those hidden gems in Chester that just warms your heart the moment you step inside. It's tucked away in this beautiful old building full of history, creating an atmosphere that's lively yet cosy, ideal for catching up with mates over a pint. The beers are an absolute highlight – they've got a fantastic range of craft options and cask ales that keep things exciting, and from what I've heard from fellow visitors, it's a real treat for anyone who appreciates a good brew. The food doesn't disappoint either; dishes like the turkey ham pie or chicken tandoori kebab come highly recommended, and it's all served up with a smile from the friendly team who make you feel like a regular right away. It's even dog-friendly, which adds to that relaxed, welcoming feel. On the flip side, though, you've got to navigate some steep stairs to get up there, so it might not be the easiest for everyone, and the entrance signage could do with being a tad more obvious to avoid any confusion. All in all, it's a brilliant spot for a proper pub experience – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, just keep those points in mind for a smoother trip.

What a place! Great atmosphere, great beer on offer and an incredibly unique place to have a pint or two! There was an allocated area for dining (we didn’t get the chance to eat here on our visit), and a decent amount of tables/chairs in the bar area. Service was excellent throughout the visit, definitely coming back here for a few beers!

Excellent pub, which has a full range of ales by Spitting Feathers and other breweries, but is also in a stunning historical building too. It's located upstairs on the first floor, so you have to go up the steep stairs to reach it the pub - the signage at the bottom perhaps could be clearer.

What an incredible pub. The interior is worth a visit anyway despite the fabulous amount of high quality beers on offer. The building is clearly a few hundred years old and has been tastefully restored into a wonderful tap room. Access is via a steep set of stairs, but is worth the climb. Staff are friendly and getting served is easy, even when there’s a queue. Possibly my favourite pub I’ve visited in some time. I loved this tap room.
