About This Pub
Ah, The Boot Inn – it's one of those reliable Wetherspoon haunts that you can always count on for a solid night out without spending a fortune. I have to say, what really stands out is how affordable everything is; whether you're after a pint of real ale or a filling meal like a vegan burger or curry, it's all done at prices that make you smile. The staff are often cheerful and efficient, adding to that friendly pub vibe, and the cosy touches like the real fires and local history photos make it feel quite inviting, especially on a quiet evening with friends. On the flip side, though, it's a shame about the odd encounter with staff who might not be as polite or attentive as you'd hope – I've heard tales of them being a bit brusque or not bothering with an apology if something goes awry, which can really spoil the mood. Overall, it's a decent choice for a relaxed get-together, but I'd suggest going in with realistic expectations; if you're lucky, you'll have a top-notch time, but it might not be perfect every visit, so keep an eye out for those little niggles and you'll still enjoy the best bits.
Pros and Cons

The prices are absolutely spot on – it's a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly pint or meal without breaking the bank.
-
Friendly and efficient staff who often go the extra mile, making you feel right at home, especially when you're out with mates.
-
A cracking selection of beers, ales, and lagers, plus tasty food options like vegan dishes and hearty classics that hit the spot.
-
The atmosphere is lovely, with historical photos on the walls and real fires that add a cosy, welcoming touch on a chilly evening.
-
Clean facilities, particularly the ladies' toilets, and quick service for food, which means you can enjoy your time without waiting ages.
Cons
-
Some staff can come across as a bit rude or unhelpful at times, which really puts a dampener on what could be a great visit.
-
Service isn't always consistent, so you might have a brilliant experience one day and feel a tad overlooked the next.
-
While the food and drinks are generally good, there have been mentions of issues like not getting an apology for slip-ups, which leaves a sour taste.

The staff sadly really let down what could be a lovely venue. When you employ staff who are not polite your not going to have a good service for your customers. It will always be spoken about locally as having rude ignorant staff. Anything is to much trouble. They did not even apologise to me for such bad service. Not once. Awful human beings.
Called in with friends while celebrating St.Georges day!
Good selection of beers, ales and lager at very good prices served by friendly efficient staff, what more could you ask for while out with mates for a few drinks?
Came for a few drinks with my husband, brother in-law and his wife. Service was excellent, especially the lady with blond hair who came round selling raffle tickets but will the staff were great. We ordered two vegan sausage, chips and beans, a vegan Beyond fiesta burger and chicken curry. The food was excellent especially for the price, we could not fault our visit...will definitely revisit.
Nice staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely hot food served quickly. Best onion rings I've had from a Wetherspoons hot and tasty. (& I've been to a lot of spoons).
Ladies toilets clean.
Would come back again.
A very nice interior and exterior at this particular Wetherspoon's.
I had the five bean chilli jacket potato either a side of coleslaw and a very good real ale for 9.40£.
It was good to see two real fires and some relevant historical photos of the locality on the walls.
Large well-lit rear beer garden.
Well worth a visit.
