About This Pub

Ah, The Bierkeller Showbar – it's one of those places in Worcester that really knows how to crank up the fun with its live music, DJ sets, and all sorts of special events like bottomless brunch and bingo nights. I've heard from mates that the bingo is a right laugh, with quick table service and plenty of prizes to keep things exciting, and the overall vibe gets you in the mood for a good dance or a singalong with a stein in hand. It's got that welcoming, party-ready feel that makes for a memorable evening out. On the downside, though, things can get a bit frustrating with the service; drinks might take forever to show up, and when they do, they're not always as strong or varied as you'd hope – think weak cocktails and limited beer choices, which feels a bit off for a spot billing itself as a beer hall. The food's okay if you're not too fussy, but pizzas can be overcooked, and it doesn't quite capture that authentic German essence some folks expect. All in all, it's a solid choice for a cheerful night if you go in expecting more about the entertainment than the finer details, but it's worth keeping an eye on those little letdowns to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with live music and DJs that get everyone up and dancing – it's a proper lively spot for a night out.
  • They've got some cracking events like bottomless brunch and bingo, with prizes up for grabs and table service that makes things feel a bit more special.
  • The venue itself looks great, with that beer hall vibe that adds to the fun and encourages a good old singalong or bench dancing session.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit hit and miss, like drinks taking ages to arrive, which puts a dampener on the evening.
  • The drinks don't always hit the mark – cocktails are often more juice than booze, and beer options are pretty limited, which is a shame for a place like this.
  • Food's nothing to shout about; pizzas might come out with cheese that's a tad overdone, and it doesn't quite live up to the hype of an authentic German beer house experience.

This is a review of the bottomless brush Feb 2025. Start time is 4pm, first drink arrived 35 mins later. The beer is becks, the cocktails are litre jugs of ice and fruit juice barely any alcohol. Hardly any staff, even the dj and security had to hand out stuff. Pizza is brought out slowly with one pizza per six people so eat before. I don't think youbget your money for drinks back. And the theme of the week just means the odd song (in this case abba) between curent and old songs.

Too much show, not enough bar. All style no substance, that is the year-long impression I get from here. Nice looking venue, nothing else is good. Wow I noticed current staff posting 5 star reviews to counter mine. Very corrupt and dishonest place to boot. Unwilling to handle criticism, like true narcissists. I will try and be brief throughout but also double down, triple down on my original comments of incompetent managers. I noticed the gradual cutting of work hours was infuriating, especially after a change in the business (redacted) I pursued better hours elsewhere, when this didn't happen for some reason, the managers deleted all of my hours (WITHOUT NOTIFICATION, A KEY POINT) and I was told to "suck it up" when I called them out on their incompetence, they had a temper tantrum, just shy of me providing a tissue to wipe away tears, which isn't in my job description fyi 🥴 so I returned the favour by leaving abruptly, there is zero animosity from me, I forgive however I operate on a different system of honour and principles which isn't recognised here. So it won't be understood where I'm coming from, it never is. Another day, another dead end, dirty, smelly job, bites the dust, and I couldn't be happier about it. the only thing I cared for was the social-mobility, otherwise I rarely get to talk to other people. It should be mentioned that I think they noticed I was "too attractive to women" so I was shoved into the kitchen as a punishment. Another place that is jealous of me. Let me be clear, this was not a job to me it was a social-outing, I couldn't care less about this business, never did, just going through the motions of it all. I deserve better and at the end of the day, I will get what I want, come wind rain or shine, doubt me all you want. The main manager subsequently lied to us saying we would never actually get zero hours (basically unemployed), I will not serve as a lapdog patsy having my time controlled and not paid for and not recognised as important. Goodbye! it is not some mystery why they can't fill the venue or work schedule it's because you suck at management and clearly I should take over as your saviour. Secondly the ridiculous fancy dress, is nothing short of immature, doesn't change me running round ball-busting for the bare bones minimum wage the amount they can get away with paying, like dirt on the end of your shoe. I am not close enough to the value of my labour. I was once remarked as "the best employee he ever had" but again this is just words. Does not fill my pockets with cash. And does not make want to stay. Do better in 2025 Pathetic Konga dancing is childish and low quality of bands seemingly dug up out of someone's back garden. I was tired of getting ill, social gatherings went out of fashion circa march 2020. The memo was lost. managed like an old council with none of the credentials of one. Full of self important managers, lacking credibility. All cheap tat from Temu and Ali Express to surely end up in the bin, polluting the environment, because it is perfectly meaningless. Gladly, I never took part in this charade. My conscience is clear. Thirdly, The DJ Is a nice chap, I even shaked his hand, but he is stuck in a 1980's time warp and he is useless and outdated, he should have been sacked 30 years ago, he is no Calvin Harris that is for sure, great guy but he wouldn't last 30 minutes under my command. Butlins tier. The volume of the music is far too loud, it's so loud in fact that even hearing protection does not feel adequate. My ears are still ringing. The pizza is store-bought but that is obvious to anyone with a smooth-brain. My suggestions for improvement fell on deaf ears because they clearly feel a superiority complex and do whatever they feel like doing on a whim, to their detriment. eventually this arrogant, zany, inept approach to management will tank the business - despite massive potential that I can see. It is rather a shame.

Had my first experience of belters bingo last night, couldn’t recommend it more if I tried! Table service throughout the evening, drinks were brought quickly and efficiently. The bingo was absolutely incredible, lots of prizes to be won along with pure entertainment. Went back in after bingo for showtime, the whole place had been cleaned really well ready for showtime and again what a lovely experience it was. Would highly recommend!

Bar 🍻 was good, plastic steins were a bit disappointing, and the beer options were limited. The 🍕 was ok, if you like your cheese cremated. May be the kitchen was overwhelmed on our visit. The DJ and live band did a great job and got everyone up and dancing the night away. All in all a good experience

Bierkeller 2nd night since it opened so maybe teething problems but I have been to many German beer houses across Europe and the US. This is not even close to the real thing. It's just Alexanders night club with wooden tables. They started by playing 90s pop(hey mickey, mambo number 5) Then at 9 the German music arrived or so I thought. (oggi oggi oggi oi oi oi and up and down) . Not very German,. Now the beer. 4% at £10 a stein. That's £5 a pint. The stein for some reason is made out of plastic and not glass. The 5.3‰ works out at 7.50 a pint that's very expensive. It's very dark inside. Now the free slice of pizza was eaten in 2 bites it's cheap. It was tiny. Very disappointed. Good news I think they show football, I will update at a later date when I have seen the football here. Overall very poor and not worth the price just seems like a money grab. Could have done a far better in my opinion. Staff were friendly. The dancing on tables was OK but as someone 6ft and low ceiling in places I did bang my head a few times.
