About This Pub
Oh, The Bell Hotel in Aylesbury is one of those places that really grows on you with its warm, welcoming atmosphere and top-notch staff who go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable – I've heard from a few who've popped in that it's just like chatting with old mates behind the bar. The rooms are a highlight too, all cosy and well-equipped with things like powerful showers and those little USB points that make life easier, plus the breakfast is a proper treat to kick off your day. On the downside, though, it's a shame about the drinks sometimes not living up to expectations, like that pint that was apparently off, and it's a bit of a letdown that they don't serve food despite billing themselves as a gastro pub – means you might end up heading elsewhere for a bite. All in all, it's got its charms for a relaxed evening or overnight stay, but I'd say it's best to keep your expectations in check and maybe give it a go if you're nearby, just for that friendly vibe and good value on certain things.

Cons
-
Some drinks just don't hit the mark, like that undrinkable Peroni that's put a few off
-
It's a bit misleading as a gastro pub since they don't actually serve food, which is disappointing

-
The place has apparently gone downhill over the years, leading to mixed experiences overall

Was a good bar to go to sadly it's gone down massively downhill the last 5years to the point now it's not worth going into! Thought I would give it a go tonight staff were great price was probably the cheapest pint of peroni in Aylesbury! Sadly it was not drinkable
Modern room well furnished with air con and tea/coffee and biscuits. Shower very warm and powerful. Really comfy beds. Handy USB charging points on the plug sockets. Continental and delicious cooked breakfast available. Warm welcome from friendly staff.
I popped in last Sunday as I'd heard that Red Cat had given it up. It's now a Gastro pub according to it's website. This has to be the only gastro pub I've ever been in that doesn't actually serve food! No drinks list could be found. I had a pint of Old Rosie at £5.50, which is £3.00 more than I for it when this pub was a JDW. It's over 3 years since Wetherspoon got rid of this pub. The clientele left with them. The pub has been allowed to fester ever since. There were around 10 customers (Farage supporters?) at 13.30 on a Sunday. Most holding conversations with people at the other side of the room in order to intimidate customers they didn't know. What an absolutely rancid dump this place is. It's beyond saving. It's condition is terminal. Expect a for sale sign to go up very soon.
J enjoy my time here friendly staff always helpful can't fault them
That's why I come here daily
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bell. Our room was very comfortable, cosy and clean, with a surprisingly big ensuite equipped with a nice rainfall shower. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the bar downstairs is charmingly old fashioned with some comfy chairs and a good mix of drinks. And the food is delicious! The four cheese pasta is highly recommended! We will definitely be staying here again.
