About This Pub

Ah, The Bell – it's one of those neighbourhood spots that just feels like a proper British pub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and a bit of my own imagining, it's got this warm, lively energy that's perfect for catching up with mates over a few beers. The staff are dead helpful and make you feel right at home, and the prices on drinks won't leave you skint at the end of the night. Plus, with pool tables and a jukebox on offer, there's always something to get stuck into for a laugh. On the flip side, though, some folks have mentioned the music can be a letdown – it's not always hitting the right notes, with DJs playing the same old tracks that might feel a tad gloomy or out of touch, especially mid-week. Still, overall, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed evening; just keep your expectations in check for the tunes, and you'll likely have a great time. It's all about that balance, isn't it?

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always make you feel welcome, like you're part of the gang.
  • It's got a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends, with good vibes that keep things fun and upbeat.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a proper pint without worrying about the wallet.
  • There are great extras like pool tables and a jukebox, which add to the entertainment and make for a cracking night out.
Cons
  • The music can sometimes feel a bit depressing or stuck in a rut, particularly during the week when the DJs don't mix it up much.
  • DJs tend to play the same tunes over and over, not really tuning into what the crowd might fancy, which can put a damper on things.

The music is really depressing at times especially during the week, the DJs don’t play for the crowd they play for themselves! The DJ on Friday plays the same tunes every week. The vibes are always nice but the DJs need to update their music!

Attended a Wake at this establishment. It had a cozy atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly. The food was prepared by the deceased person's son's own catering company (excellent) so I can't comment on the in-house food - sorry! Sorry too, that I cannot comment on how much I spent because I only paid for a packet of crisps, everything else was provided by the deceased person's family

I was introduced to this pub by a friend and was pleasantly surprised. I've been here twice now on a Friday and enjoyed myself on both occasions. Good vibes, good music, friendly staff and the drinks are reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back again soon 😉
