About This Pub
Ah, The Beer House – what a treat it is! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's one of those places that just nails the basics while adding a bit of extra charm. The beers are the star of the show; folks rave about everything from Atlas Easy Pale to Marble brews, with a fantastic variety that caters to all sorts of tastes. The staff really stand out too – they're not just serving drinks, they're sharing their passion, offering tasters and recommendations that make you feel right at home. Pair that with a welcoming vibe, complete with board games and a playlist that keeps the energy up, and you've got yourself a proper cosy spot for a catch-up with mates. On the downside, if craft beers aren't your thing, you might find the options a bit limited compared to a more traditional pub. Plus, without an official website, it's not the easiest to plan a visit, and those operating hours do look a smidge confusing at first glance. All in all, though, it's well worth seeking out if you're in the area – just go with an open mind and you're in for a belter of an evening.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely fantastic, with a wide range of craft ales, cask, keg, and even some rare finds that really hit the spot.
-
The staff are so knowledgeable and passionate; they'll help you pick the perfect pint based on your tastes, making every visit feel personal and fun.
-
It's got a lovely atmosphere with board games like Exploding Kittens and an eclectic playlist that keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
-
Prices are spot on for a good night out – reasonably priced drinks that won't break the bank.
-
There's outdoor seating for when the weather's nice, perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand.
Cons
-
It might not suit everyone if you're not keen on craft beers, as the focus is heavily on ales and speciality brews rather than a broad range of drinks.
-
No website means it's a bit tricky to check out the menu or what's on tap before you head over, so you might have to wing it.
-
The operating hours listed seem a tad inconsistent, which could leave you guessing about when it's best to pop in.

08/10/22: great choice of craft ales, cask & keg, bottle and tins available. Lovely shabby chic, with a living room kinda feel. Very friendly staff that were more than helpful in choosing the right beer for the moment. A great place to relax and enjoy a beer. One of the must go to places on the Chorlton Ale Trail. Formerly named Marble Beerhouse, it still features a couple of Marble brews. Opened in 2000, but became under new management in 2018. Has it's beer list on big screen in a replenishing screensaver via Untappd.
Wonderful craft beer-focused pub - with stellar service. I gave a rather vague approximation of my tastes - and the publican was instantly pouring four tastes. The guy knew his beers!
Highly recommended - love their eclectic playlist and board games likes ‘Exploding Kittens’. 😀
A 2023 Good Beer Guide pub. Been several times when named the Marble. Still serves a couple of the Marble brewery beers. Paulicarus took the Marble 4% Manchester bitter. One of six real ales available. Long thin interior but we sat out front in the October sun. Outside space for about 20. Good visit.
Great beer with excellent staff and very reasonably priced. They always have great beers and they are very friendly and helpful to everyone.
