About This Pub

Ah, The Beehive – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are top-notch, always up for a chat and making everyone feel welcome, which is just what you want on a cosy evening out. The building itself is a real gem, kept nice and tidy, and with reasonable prices, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back. They've got entertainment lined up on weekends, like a DJ to liven things up, and that car park out back is a bonus if you're driving over. On the flip side, it's a pity they don't do food themselves – you might have to pop elsewhere for a bite – and if you're a real ale enthusiast, you could be out of luck with the options on offer. Plus, there are a few niggles, like the toilets needing a fix or the bar team not always being as attentive as they could be. Overall, it's a solid 4 out of 5 spot that does the basics well, but with a bit of polishing, it could be even better. If you're in the SE9 area, it's definitely worth a visit for a relaxed drink with mates.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, efficient, and they make you feel right at home, like you've been a regular for years.
  • It's got a lovely, welcoming atmosphere in a beautifully kept building that just adds to the charm.
  • Prices are spot on, making it a great spot for a casual pint without breaking the bank.
  • They've got a decent selection of beers and wine, plus entertainment like a DJ on weekends to keep things lively.
  • There's a car park at the back, which is handy if you're popping in by car.
Cons
  • They don't serve food on site, which is a bit of a shame if you're after a proper meal with your drink.
  • No real ale available, so if that's your thing, you might be disappointed and end up with something like Guinness instead.
  • The toilets could do with some TLC – like fixing a broken lock on the ladies' one, which isn't ideal.
  • Bar staff aren't always on the ball; sometimes they're chatting away and you have to wait a bit to get served.

Visited the area over the weekend 17th to 20th Jan to see my son who recently moved nearby... The pub doesn't do food but landlady and all bar staff were great, really friendly and efficient. Good prices. We both felt like regulars by the Sunday night. It's a lovely building too and kept imaculate by the staff who polished the bar each night. I'll definitly be going back when I'm in the area.

I stopped in her one lunchtime while waiting for you car’s mot test to be done. Frankly I wish I had not bothered. It is a dismal place. No real ale - only beerless pumps stand sadly on the bar. I was forced to take a Guinness. It was almost empty, which was a good thing, as this place is renown for a somewhat unfriendly and aggressive clientele. Never again!

Attended a funeral here. Nice venue, friendly, welcoming staff. Entertainment weekends available. Car park available at back of pub. Blossoms cafe provided food for wake hot and cold choices. Gave four stars as the ladies' toilet needs a lock on the door as broken. It's definitely worth visiting.

A great pub with a good atmosphere. A good selection of beers and wine. A range of foods to choose from too.

Nice pub for a meet up with mates if you're over 25. Nicely decorated and serves some nice booze. DJ of a weekend is a good way to end a nice afternoon then into the night. Barmaids need to be a little more attentive as few people were waiting to be served while they were grouped together chatting. They were lovely though. Toilets were clean which is always good to see anywhere. Overall a nice place to go.
