About This Pub
Ah, Pope Street Bar & Kitchen – it's one of those places that just feels like a neighbourhood gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks are raving about the food; the Sunday roasts and vegan dishes are proper winners, leaving you with that satisfied glow after a meal. The staff are a delight, always engaging and making sure you're looked after, which really makes the place feel warm and inviting. Plus, with a great range of drinks on offer and its handy spot near the transport links, it's ideal for a quick catch-up or a full evening out. On the flip side, it's not without its quirks – prices can be a bit steep for what you get, and service might slip up now and then, like forgetting a simple request, which can put a small dampener on things. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.5, it's clear this spot does a lot right, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after a chilled pub experience with a side of good grub. All in all, it's a balanced choice for anyone looking for a reliable local haunt.

-
They've got a private room upstairs for events, perfect for parties or gatherings, and it's clean and well-kept overall.
Cons
-
It can feel a tad pricey compared to your average pub, so you might want to check the menu before heading in if you're watching the pennies.
-
Service isn't always spot on – sometimes they might forget about your order, like asking for water and waiting a bit too long.
-
The bar area is on the smaller side, which could mean it gets a bit cosy during busier times, but it's manageable.

Local venue for us, private party upstairs, lovely spread of food, very tasty not sure on cost. Small bar but good choice of beers and ales at resonable price. Toilets upstairs clean and tidy.
Delicious desserts, yummy vegan roast, a bit expensive as pubs go, and the server forgot about us a couple of times when we asked for water. Drinks were also delicious.
Great food and at a reasonable price.
Well & conveniently located with the bus stop and train station a 2-3 minute walk away.
The vibe is so chill - perfect for lunch or dinner.
Super friendly staff - always let me use the loo when I’m bursting after getting off the train at New Eltham.
Have always wanted to visit as I pass this pub every morning and evening on my way to and back from work. There’s always people in the pub so checked out their website and saw they do Sunday roast. Took my partner and his mum there just this Sunday and not disappoint. My and my partner had a mixed roast, mum had the pork belly roast. Lovely range of cocktails. We had 6 cocktails from the list and they are all exceptional. The desserts were the highlight of our meal. Mixed berries crumble, sticky toffee pudding with creamy vanilla ice cream, a three-scoops bowl of pistachios ice cream and vanilla ice cream. Must say that their ice creams were really lovely like home made. My new favourite place definitely. Staff were efficient and not overly friendly. Food comes out in really good timing despite of the restaurant being so full. Exceptional eatery for New Eltham.
From start to finish, a great service with such engaging staff. Very prompt with contact, any queries answered. Great food, drinks and all round gorgeous venue. I’ve eaten many times here and hosted (for the first time here) my besties baby shower. The girls could not stop commenting on how lovely the place, food and staff were. Would highly recommend.
