About This Pub

Ah, The Barrowboy & Banker – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of London Bridge, don't you think? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the atmosphere; it's got that cosy, traditional feel with stunning surroundings that make you want to linger over a pint. The food is a standout – think mouthwatering pies, fresh fish and chips, and even a cracking scotch egg that pairs perfectly with their ales and craft beers. And the service? Well, the team seems genuinely welcoming, with stories of the manager whipping up the best coffee you've ever had in a pub, which is a nice surprise. It's in such a handy spot near Borough Market, ideal for grabbing a bite after wandering around or sorting out private events for birthdays or work dos. On the downside, it does get pretty lively and noisy at times, which might put you off if you're after a quiet evening. Still, with an overall solid rating and plenty of happy feedback, it's a solid choice for a good night out – just go in with the right expectations, and you'll have a whale of a time!

We first discovered The Barrowboy and Banker during our first visit to London back in 2011, and we instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and the food. Luckily, we've been able to return to London several times since, and this pub has become a must-stop for us. We've tried their pies, fish and chips, puddings — everything has always been excellent. And let’s not forget about Fuller’s, one of my all-time favorite beers. Their ESB is simply outstanding. On our last visit, we were warmly welcomed by the manager of the place, who happened to be originally from Brazil (Paulo, if I remember correctly). He gave us a fantastic experience — it was a real pleasure to chat with a fellow South American while in the heart of London. We had a great time and hope to find him there again on our next trip!

Stopped in after a long day of sightseeing and was not disappointed! We had the fish and chips, scotch egg, and a Yorkshire pudding on the side. It was all delicious! The yorkies came with 2 in the order and it was a generous size! The only downside is how loud the restaurant was.

5 Stars I had the chance to visit Barrow Boy and Banker and was honestly blown away—especially by the coffee! Ellie, the manager, made the best coffee I’ve ever had in a bar. You can tell she really knows her stuff. Every cup she made was smooth, rich, and full of flavour—better than most cafés I’ve been to! The whole place has that classic British pub charm: warm atmosphere, great staff, and a real sense of character. If you’re after great drinks, amazing service, and surprisingly top-tier coffee, this is the spot. Big shoutout to Ellie for making the experience so memorable!

Always a great experience in this Fuller's pub near London Bridge station. We came in for lunch with the kids, have been in plenty of times before for just drinks after work. Service was good in both the bar area and dining area, atmosphere good - busy but not too busy. Only taking one point off food as they had 'run out' of London Pride so I ended up going for a different pint. Full kids menu (note that you have to ask for this) quality better than other places - the panko-breaded chicken bites really are this and not lower quality chicken nuggets, likewise the fish really is freshly battered fillets. Adult meals also good pub quality. Will come back
