About This Pub

Ah, The Barley Mow – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Bradford, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, inviting vibe where the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and there's always a good selection of beers to choose from, which is just spot on for a relaxed evening. I love how they throw in entertainment like poker and pool tournaments; it sounds like a brilliant way to liven things up and meet a few new faces. The outdoor seating is another highlight, ideal for those sunny days when you fancy a pint in the fresh air. On the downside, it seems the food hasn't impressed everyone – one person mentioned their light bite was a letdown, so maybe it's best to keep it simple and stick to the drinks for now. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, with that timeless pub charm, but it could benefit from a bit more attention to the grub to make it truly unbeatable.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers on tap, perfect for settling in with a pint or two.
  • There's plenty of entertainment on offer, like regular poker and pool tournaments, which add a fun buzz to the place.
  • The outdoor seating area is a lovely spot, especially after a good walk, for soaking up the fresh air and enjoying a drink.
  • It's got that classic, characterful pub vibe that's full of charm and a real sense of community.
Cons
  • The food didn't quite hit the mark in one review, with a light bite leaving someone a bit disappointed.
  • A few folks haven't popped in for years, so it might not feel as fresh or updated as some newer spots.

Go there when we can it is a very friendly pub with a good selection of beers. There is the occasional entertainment and regular poker and pool tournaments where food is supplied for the participants

Not been, to be honest, just want to say it's great to see an old pub doing great things. Lived on Halifax Rd back in the 70s and remember seeing your pub everyday. Good Luck.

Fantastic location ideal after a long walk to rest our tired legs nice outdoor seating area. Pub has some real character and the service was fantastic. Only down side was good not of the quality I’d of expected only had a light bite but left disappointed.

Called in with family, 1st time in for quite a while, lovely friendly staff. Sandwiches came round for customers. We were sitting near the pool table watching the game. Lovely to see old friends too.
