About This Pub

Ah, The Bank Wine Bar & Bistro – what a lovely little find in the middle of Wrexham! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its mouthwatering menu of small plates, all made from fresh, local ingredients that feel just right for a casual get-together. The team there are absolute gems, always on hand with a smile and that extra touch of care that turns a simple meal into something special. It's got this welcoming, relaxed atmosphere in a nicely done-up building, ideal for kicking back after a day out or catching up over drinks. On the flip side, though, it does get pretty popular, so you might end up wandering elsewhere if you haven't booked ahead – and with it only open five days a week, it's not always an option for a last-minute plan. Still, if you're after a spot that balances great grub with genuine hospitality without breaking the bank, I'd say give it a go; it's got that feel-good factor that keeps people coming back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with a fantastic selection of locally sourced, seasonal small plates that leave you wanting more – perfect for sharing with mates.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, like Will, Eva, and Alex, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • It's got a lovely, chilled atmosphere in a beautifully renovated building right in the heart of Wrexham High Street, making it a great spot for a relaxed catch-up or post-match unwind.
  • With a solid 4.6 rating from heaps of reviews, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable experience, especially for groups or casual evenings out.
Cons
  • It can get fully booked quite easily, so you'll want to sort out a booking in advance to avoid disappointment, especially on busier nights.
  • They're only open five days a week, which means you might have to plan around their schedule if you're hoping for a spontaneous visit on the weekend.
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what I've seen, with varying closing times listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.

Absolutely gorgeous, we have just been for a meal, 7 of us. I've never been before, menu was great, lots to choose from. The two staff who looked after us, Will and Eva, were absolutely lovely, super helpful, service was great! Food and drinks were DELICIOUS and the atmosphere is lovely and chill. Thank you again for having us, will definitely be back again! Highly recommend!

After the match, we changed out of our soaking clothes, warmed up our feet, and ventured out to find dinner. We stopped at several places but being from out of town, we didn’t think to make a booking ahead and most of the restaurants we stopped in did not have available tables for hours. We walked by The Bank and stopped in to see if they happened to have a table and surprisingly, they had a large table at the front for just the two of us. We had three small plates, the fried squid, brisket, and mozzarella and tomatoes. Highly recommend the squid and the brisket. Their Old Fashioned and Godfather were quite good. We met a young couple and started chatting. They joined us at our table and we had a wonderful visit. The decor is very nice, with a beautiful spiral staircase to one side. The service was perfect. If you are in Wrexham, stop by The Bank, you will be glad you did!

A perfect post-match dinner and the highlight of our trip to Wrexham. After a Wrexham football match, my wife and I headed to The Bank Restaurant—and even though they were fully booked, the owner, Alex, welcomed us with incredible hospitality and found a way to make room for us. The restaurant has a cozy, romantic atmosphere. Alex recommended a fantastic bottle of wine that paired perfectly with everything we ordered. We ended up enjoying a relaxed, two-hour dinner that felt more like an experience than just a meal. The duck hash and chicken tacos were absolute standouts—flavorful, beautifully plated, and cooked to perfection. But truthfully, everything we tasted from the menu was excellent. Throughout the evening, Alex and the wait staff checked in on us often, always warm and attentive, treating us like family. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time in Wrexham. Can’t recommend this place enough—we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Popped in yesterday and received some awesome service and even better food. The small plates were super tasty and the only issue I had was picking just 3 🤣😋😋
