About This Pub

Ah, Old No 7 – it's one of those places in Wrexham that just feels like a hidden gem when you step inside. From what folks have shared, the atmosphere really shines, especially on weekends with those talented live singers belting out covers and originals that get everyone joining in. The cocktails are a standout, with rave reviews about their quality and variety, and the food menu hits the mark with a nice mix of Mediterranean and classic dishes that are tasty and reasonably priced. The staff come across as genuinely warm and attentive, making it ideal for everything from a casual drink to celebrating a special occasion in their private upstairs space. On the flip side, it's a shame it's only open four days a week and kicks off quite late in the afternoon, which might not suit everyone. Plus, with no fresh reviews lately and the business appearing unclaimed, it does make you wonder if things have slowed down a bit. Overall, if you're after a place with heart and a bit of character, it's worth a visit, but maybe plan ahead to catch it at its best.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's cosy and stylish, perfect for a quiet catch-up or a lively night with friends, especially with those brilliant live singers on weekends.
  • The cocktails are spectacular; I've heard great things about the Long Island Iced Tea and others, making it a top choice for a fun drink.
  • Food is a real highlight, blending Mediterranean and traditional dishes that are well executed and offer amazing value for money.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist, which makes the place feel welcoming and personal.
  • It's fantastic for events like birthdays; the private upstairs area is great for groups, and the live music adds a special touch.
Cons
  • It only opens four days a week, typically from 4 PM, which can be a bit limiting if you're planning a spontaneous outing.
  • There haven't been any recent reviews in the last six months, so it might not be as buzzing as it once was.
  • As an unclaimed business, it doesn't seem to have much online engagement, which could mean missing out on updates or improvements.
  • The operating status shows it's currently closed, so you'd want to double-check before heading over to avoid disappointment.

Had a 30th birthday at the venue. Jess the manager was great and answered any queries straight away and assisted with anything needed. The upstairs area we booked was nice, private and we were allowed to decorate how we wanted. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the live music was fantastic. Would definitely choose to have a party at No7 again over other places in the area due to the treatment received, affordability and location. Thank you.

I love this place! One of two venues in Wrexham I can comfortably call nice, classy or desirable. Great atmosphere, good food and the cocktails are spectacular. Rarely get into anything much more than the long island iced tea but have samples a good cross section over the years. The atmosphere is cosy early on, with comfortable, stylish furnishings and low-ish lighting, suited to quiet drinks with conversation, dates etc. Later into the evening on weekends at least they have some great local talent in doing acoustic covers and original music with plenty of audience participation encouraged but not in a lazy way. Food is a pleasant mix of Mediterranean through traditional and well executed. I've been there as a casual visitor for drinks and/or food and also on work outings, group catered and been equally pleased each time.
