About This Pub

Ah, Chequers in Wrexham – it's one of those spots that really grows on you once you pop in for a drink. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant mix of affordable prices on drinks that don't skimp on quality, and the staff are generally spot on, serving up pints and cocktails with a smile and getting them to you in no time. The music's always on point too, with good tunes that keep the energy high and make you want to linger a bit longer. It's got that unique, intimate feel because of its small size and low ceilings, which can make for some cracking nights full of laughs and good times with your mates. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – the space is on the tiny side, so it can get proper packed and a tad uncomfortable when it's heaving, and there've been a couple of stories about staff not always being as welcoming as you'd hope, which is a real shame and might leave a sour taste. All in all, if you're after a laid-back evening without breaking the bank, I'd say give it a go, but maybe aim for a quieter night to avoid the crowds and any potential hiccups.

  • There have been a few reports of negative interactions with staff, like unprofessional behaviour, which can really put a damper on the evening

Like a mate trying to turn his old house into a night club, which gives a good atmosphere, but does come with practical issues... bar is small, stairs are cramped, in fact the whole place feels a bit cramped. Good laugh though.

Disgusting dj who insults a 21year old who has a serious illness that affects her voice and has her in floods of tears they might accommodate for disabled people but don't think about people with illnesses they can not see. Disgusting behaviour 😠

Friendly and helpful door staff, very busy bar but quick service. It's a very small and low ceilinged place but it makes for a unique atmosphere. Give it a visit.
