About This Pub

So, picture this – you're in Wrexham and fancy a proper meal with friends, and CarniBoar comes highly recommended as this cosy steakhouse that's all about fresh, hearty food and a welcoming vibe. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the steaks and burgers are absolute winners, with people going on about how tasty and well-prepared everything is, especially those sharing platters that feel like a real treat. The staff sound like a delight, always up for a chat and quick to offer helpful tips, which really elevates the whole experience and makes you feel right at home. Throw in some innovative cocktails and a solid selection of gins and rums, and you've got a spot that's perfect for a relaxed evening with good tunes in the background. On the downside, it's shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, so you'll need to plan ahead to avoid disappointment, and that booking deposit can be a slight nuisance if life's unpredictable plans get in the way. All in all, it's a solid choice for meat lovers looking for a good time, but just keep those little niggles in mind to make the most of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think juicy steaks, brilliant burgers, and fresh trimmings that leave you wanting more, as shared by folks who've raved about their meals.
  • Service is top-notch with friendly, welcoming staff who go the extra mile, offering great advice and a bit of banter to make your visit feel relaxed and enjoyable.
  • The atmosphere is lively with good music at just the right volume, plus innovative cocktails and the best gin and rum selections that add a fun twist to the experience.
  • They offer great value deals, like burger nights, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a hearty meal with mates.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which can be a pain if you're planning a mid-week get-together and have to shuffle your schedule.
  • Bookings require a non-refundable deposit that's transferable but still a bit of a faff if your plans change unexpectedly.
  • The menu's pretty meat-focused, so if you're after more variety or something lighter, it might not hit the spot for everyone in your group.

Wow !! We came here off a recommendation from hotel staff So glad we did ! We went for the burger deal (£25 for 2 people with a drink each ) I had the bad boy burger , classic beef with brisket , mushrooms , cheese and peppercorn sauce . It was lovely ! My partner went for the American which was a chicken burger with cheese and some other bits he scoffed it that quick 😊 I had the cocktail which was a summery one and my other half went for the wrexham larger ! Both were lovely .

Food and service is amazing. Delicious food each time I have been and the staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you to the lovely Irish gentleman that served us today, had great helpful advice for a friend who is potentially gluten free and had great banter with us all. Restaurant come highly recommend

Me and my boyfriend went to the Carniboar this evening for his birthday and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We had the Steak phat platter to share and it was undoubtedly the best steak and brisket I have ever tried. Couldn’t have asked for better service, all workers were very inviting and made sure we were comfortable throughout our whole meal. 5 stars, will absolutely be going there again!!

not only the best meal I've had in Wrexham, Carniboar also has one of the best burger menus I've ever seen. Staff are very welcoming, Thursday evening was Burger night. £15 for burger, fries and a drink. worth every penny 😋 absolutely delicious food, great atmosphere with good music at a good volume. Definitely returning for more and recommending to others!

Came for a lovely evening with the girls. Lovely service off the ladies. Nice to be able to see into the kitchen and the chef's working. I had the sticky sausages for starter which were lovely. Then had the chicken burger for my main. It was a good portion size and very filling. The steaks the other girls had looked really nice. May try these next time. I think our waitress was called Ella and she was very sweet and polite. A nice first visit here.
