About This Pub

Ah, Brewdog DogHouse – it's one of those places in Manchester that just pulls you in with its buzz and variety. I've got to say, the craft beer scene here is something else; they've got an impressive lineup of brews from all over, including their own, so whether you're after a crisp lager or something more adventurous like a sour, you're in for a treat. Pair that with their mouth-watering food options – think juicy burgers, flavour-packed wings, and even some tasty brunch deals – and you've got a recipe for a great night out. The rooftop bar is particularly charming; picture yourself up there on a mild evening, surrounded by plants and with a view that makes you forget the hustle below. The staff often shine too, being really helpful and adding to that welcoming feel, especially with events like Wings Wednesdays that bring a fun crowd. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there are times when service drags a bit, like waiting ages for a simple tea or dealing with order mix-ups, which can put a dampener on things if you're not in the mood to wait. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe avoid the rush hours.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The craft beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with 30 taps offering everything from IPAs to sours – it's a real treat for beer enthusiasts.
  • The food menu is spot on, especially the wings and burgers; they're packed with flavour and there's even a kids' menu to keep everyone happy.
  • The rooftop terrace is a gem, particularly on a sunny day – it's sheltered, pretty with plants, and makes for a lovely spot to relax and chat.
  • Service is generally top-notch; the staff are attentive and go the extra mile, like customising orders or recommending brews.
  • They've got fun events like Wings Wednesdays and guest brewery showcases, which add a lively vibe and keep things exciting.
Cons
  • Service can sometimes be a bit hit or miss, with waits for drinks or food that might leave you a tad frustrated during busy times.
  • There have been occasional slip-ups with orders, like delays or missing items, which could spoil the experience if you're in a rush.
  • The atmosphere might feel a bit overwhelming on peak days, as it gets quite busy, making it harder to find a quiet corner.

Called in on a sunny Monday lunch time. It was lovely even in 13 degrees heat in the sun. It was protected from any wind and the cold. The terrace is pretty with plants and plenty of seating options. Edit - been 3 times now. The drinks are great and decent value in the city. The terrace gets very busy in nice weather, but it's a great atmosphere. As 2 people we found a table straight away, however some larger groups needed to wait a while for tables to be available but plenty of standing room. Cocktails are good at 2-4-1 during happy hour.

Been here twice for the wings as heard they were pretty good. They are excellent! As is the service. The second time I went I asked could I have an extra pot of sauce instead of the blue cheese and the chef clearly got the memo and absolutely drenched the wings in hot sauce too. Very much recommended. It was a bit cold in there but that’s the only fault. I didn’t even mind the black heart and I’m a Guinness drinker!

We had the bottomless brunch, 2 full english, food was lovely. Hot and tasty, and the beans were different but great! One of us opted for the upgrade which included cocktails as well as prosecco. Husband stuck to the lost lager. Our server was Layana and she was great, very attentive and she definitely deserves to be recognised for her great service.

Came as a 4 we’re directed to a booth with no cutlery. Ordered separately within 5 minutes. A pancake stack came out first before any drinks. Had to wait 20 minutes for a pot of tea that was as ordered at the same time as the pancakes and 54 minutes for the last dish to arrive at the table. 2 lattes one with oat milk both with vanilla that we paid extra for they didn’t have any syrup other than pumpkin spice which we declined. They didn’t give us out 60p back for the syrup and did not tell us which was oat milk so the one without the allergy had to taste test. Ordered chicken and waffles and American breakfast. After 30+ minutes they arrived and it was pancakes not waffles when I asked she said the machine might have broken. Both were room temperature at best. The chicken was rock hard see video and very over done. The croissant burger was cold and we had no check backs and only cleared half the table before we left.

We had a wonderful time here. The staff were so lovely and looked after us so well while we were visiting Manchester. We had a dinner, brunch and drinks in the main bar and dinner on the rooftop bar another night. The food and drinks were all amazing and our wee pup loved all the attention and treats he got! All the staff were amazing and so friendly, particularly Dan who went our of his way to really look after us during brunch this morning :) The rooms were great and everything has been thought of! We will definitely stay again! Thank you!
