About This Pub

Ah, The Albion, what a gem of a pub it is! From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got that perfect blend of cosy vibes and excitement, especially with the live music that keeps things entertaining on weekends. The staff really stand out; they're so approachable and make every visit feel personal, whether you're just nipping in for a drink or organising something special like a family gathering. And the drinks? Well, you've got reasonably priced options with a fantastic selection of whiskies that could keep you exploring for ages. On the flip side, it does tend to fill up quickly, which is great for the atmosphere but might feel a tad overwhelming if you're seeking a quiet corner. Plus, with doors shutting at 11 PM, it's more suited to earlier evenings rather than all-nighters, and the lack of an online presence means you might have to wing it a bit when planning your trip. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers looking for a heartfelt spot in Bootle – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, helpful, and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or something more.
  • It's got a fabulous atmosphere that's perfect for everything from a quiet evening to a lively weekend with live music that really gets the crowd going.
  • The drinks selection is spot on, with reasonably priced pints and an impressive range of whiskies – over 80 varieties, which is a treat for any whisky enthusiast.
  • A great spot for special occasions; they've handled events like wakes with real heart and care, making it a versatile choice for gatherings.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, which adds to the buzz but might not be ideal if you're after a more peaceful spot to unwind.
  • The pub closes at 11 PM every night, so it's not the best for those late-night sessions when you fancy carrying on into the wee hours.
  • Without a website, it's a bit tricky to check out the latest events or menu details beforehand, which could be a minor hassle for planning a visit.

Great place to watch live music at the weekend Rob the manager is friendly and helpful. Staff are always friendly. Gets busy early on but adds to the atmosphere. Beers are reasonably priced, and the bar offers 80 different types of whisky. Well worth a visit.
