About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Abbey in Bulwell, it just strikes me as one of those pubs that gets the basics spot on while adding a bit of warmth that makes it stand out. From what folks are saying, the staff are absolute stars – always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really sets the tone for a great night out. The drinks menu is spot on too, with a nice range of ales, wines, and spirits that won't break the bank, so you can enjoy a proper pint or a cheeky glass without worrying about the tab. And the food? Well, it's clear that the Sunday roasts and burgers are crowd-pleasers, with plenty of praise for how tasty and filling they are, especially for families or if you're treating the little ones. It's also brilliant that they're so dog-friendly and have that function room for when you fancy hosting something special – it adds a real community feel. On the flip side, though, it seems like service can hit a snag now and then, with one person mentioning a longer wait for meals, even if they did sort it out nicely in the end. Plus, the opening times might not be entirely straightforward, so it's probably wise to double-check if you're heading out. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, with more highs than lows, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in Nottingham and after a pub that feels like a friendly local haunt.

Great atmosphere and very dog friendly. I have not eaten there yet, so I'm unable to rate it, but I'm sure it's great food
Really nice pub. Had 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals, no doubt the puddings won this time but the burger was fantastic and the kids meals are more than enough for a 9 year old. So nice and the service was amazing. Very friendly place.
We were just driving past looking for lunch, and saw the queer flag so decided to stop. We ordered food for three and drinks. It took an hour to come out so they gave us free drinks but the staff were super friendly and chatty.
A really friendly pub. Great staff and some good beer, quite cheap too
