About This Pub

Ah, Tannahills – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local in Paisley, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a bit of banter and serving up drinks with a smile, which really makes the place welcoming. The atmosphere is spot on for a traditional night out; think jukebox tunes and that comforting old-school vibe where you can settle in for a chat with your mates without any bother. And if you're partial to a Guinness, they've got it down to a fine art, pouring it just right for a smoother sip. On the flip side, though, the gents' toilet is on the small side, which might leave you a bit squashed if it's busy, and getting served in certain spots can be a wait if they're short-staffed. Plus, it's more of an older crowd hangout, so if you're up for something more energetic, it might not hit the mark. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, but keep those little niggles in mind – honest feedback from one pub lover to another!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The bar staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, always making you feel welcome for a proper chat.
  • It's got that classic old-fashioned pub atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed pint with your mates.
  • They pour Guinness just right – smoother and less bitter, which is a real treat if you're a fan.
  • No dramas or hassles; it's a straightforward, pleasant spot for a good night out.
Cons
  • The gents' toilet is absolutely tiny, which can be a bit of a nuisance on busier evenings.
  • Some areas of the bar can be tricky to get served in, especially if there's only one barmaid on duty.
  • It tends to attract an older crowd, so it might not be the liveliest place if you're after a younger vibe.
  • The reviews we've got are a tad outdated, from a couple of years back, so things might have shifted a bit.

Pleasant night with mates , no hassles , section of bar we were in was a bit difficult to get served as there only seemed to be the one young barmaid attending. Nice wee pub.

Paisley local pub with older crowd and reasonable enough atmosphere. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Jukebox. But James McEwan probably rates this as a 5. Tiny tiny gents toilet.

Tannahills, a rare pub that pours Guinness correctly by topping up pushing tap back for a smoother, less bitter and faster settling Guinness. 35 ml measures too.
