We really like this place. They have everything my wife and I enjoy, bowling, pool and darts. Great selection of beer on tap too. It has great potential, but im worried that their not adhering to their business hours could potentially cause them problems in the future.
On one occasion we were there till late, and after finishing 2 rounds of bowling, we ended the night off with some darts and drinking a beer that they had sold us 15 mins earlier. They kept badgering us to leave cause they close at 10pm, and I explained that we should be done by 10pm, but that I was going to finish the beer that they had sold me. At 10 pm I literally had 1 sip left of my beer when they put off all the lights and told us to leave. I defiantly stayed a few seconds longer and finished my beer, but the whole experience left a bad taste taste in my mouth, and it wasn't from the beer.
This past Saturday, my wife and I went out for dinner and then went up at 10pm for a couple of games of bowling, because on weekends they supposedly open till 11pm. We arrived and there was only one lane being used and we were told that they were closing because it was a quiet night. At the same time another 2 couples arrived and were told the same thing. So they had 6 people wanting to play two games each plus order drinks, and there was still the possibility of more people arriving, but they turned us all away. Yes maybe they wouldn't have made a killing, but even if they just broke even, wouldn't it have been a good thing to accommodate us rather than ruinning their reputation? I owned many restaurants in my time, and one thing I learned is that consistency is king. If you say you are open till 11pm, even if there isn't a single person in town, you stay open till 11pm. When ppl realize that your business hours are a farce, no one will trust coming to you. Rather state that you only open till 9pm, and stick to that, than being unprofessional and wasting peoples time. I hope they sort their problems out, cause it's a great place and it would be a pity if they don't succeed.
We went with the grandchildren today to play bowls and crazy golf and ordered lunch . The young lady behind the bar was super helpful and very patient. She dealt with our menu order swiftly and was so kind to the two young children with us . Thankyou fir a lovely afternoon.
This place is one of the best places I've been to for a great night out!
The bottomless brunch which starts at 7pm is brilliant and the food is all handmade and freshly cooked by Josh the owner. The cocktail
The 9 hole crazy golf upstairs is absolutely brilliant and if you request it,vou can do karaoke request it, they will give you a microphone and off you go!
Had the best birthday I've had in many years and cannot recommend PAR'N'BAR highly enough.
Fantastic for Hen nights, Birthdays or just a brilliant night out with friends and family and they even do children's parties too.
Please give this place a go, you will not regret it 👍
Took the kids here, we all had great fun.
The only downside is it is a bit of a short course, but they have done well to fit it what they have with the area they have to work with.
Can imagine it is a lot of fun to do with a few beers.
Visited not long after they’d opened expecting teething problems and we had a wonderful time. The bar area is clean and spacious, and a great selection of cocktails with really friendly and lovely staff. The golf upstairs seemed small at first but took us longer than expected (which is a positive)! The theming and quality and layout is all fantastic, and each hole is unique and challenging, but fun. The accessibility of this venue is wonderful too, and lovely clean and decorated toilets.
So happy we now have this in rugby and hope they are successful! The price is incredibly reasonable too, we’ll definitely be returning ☺️
