About This Pub
Ah, the Stanford Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Lowestoft. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the beer selection is spot on, with a rotating lineup of cask and keg options, plus some cracking non-alcoholic choices for those keeping it light. Pair that with their delicious stone-baked pizzas and sides, and you've got a winning combo for a casual evening. The events scene is another highlight; think lively music quizzes and live bands that really get the energy going. On the downside, it's only open five days a week with some variable hours, so you might need to plan around that to avoid disappointment. And while it's generally buzzing, it can be a bit subdued at quieter times, which might not suit if you're after non-stop action. All in all, it's a solid spot for beer lovers and anyone up for a good laugh – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but keep an eye on the schedule for the best experience.

Cons
-
Opening hours can be a bit hit-and-miss, with the pub only open five days a week and some inconsistent timings on Sundays.

-
The place has changed over the years, which could mean it's not as traditional as some might hope, though it's still evolving positively.

A 'proper' pub with a great choice of beers. Also has some nice non-alcoholic beers too. Pizza & fries are amazing!
Very welcoming atmosphere and a wonderful selection of pizzas in the brunch!
Pool table and juke box has been recently reintroduced here and hopefully should help bring in a few more customers for the place.
I've seen it change a lot over the last dozen years or so and I hope it continues to survive selling its wide range of craft beers and lager which made me become a regular in the first place. Probably still the best pub in Lowestoft if quality beer and ale is your thing.
We had the bottomless brunch. Was great fun, pizza and loaded fries were great.
Everybody needs to finish their drink before you order another . Staff were great and always on hand.
Great pub from what we saw in our brief visit. 4pm on a Tuesday is not the ideal to suss a place. Lots of good keg beers incl stout. A local feel pub which gets a massive tick in the craft beer box. 😊🍺
