About This Pub
Ah, The Joseph Conrad – it's one of those classic Wetherspoons pubs that you stumble upon in Lowestoft, and I have to say, it's a real gem for keeping things affordable without breaking the bank. You'll love the vibe if you're after cheap drinks and a decent bite, like their ales or even a breakfast that hits the spot on a lazy Sunday. The staff are often chummy and make the place feel welcoming, and with all that space, it's easy to settle in for a good chat with friends. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; I've heard tales of waits that drag on forever for food, and some dishes coming out less than stellar, like steaks that are a bit overdone or portions that leave you wanting more. Plus, without any music, it can feel a tad flat if you're hoping for a lively atmosphere. Overall, it's a dependable choice for a casual get-together, but I'd suggest going in with realistic expectations – it's brilliant for value, but service might need a bit of polishing to make it truly standout.

I will say that was the worst experience I have in the last 15 years, we was waiting for breakfast 1 hour and 50 minutes never never again, the stuff was not interesting about us complaining about the food completely ignorant
Best wine and chicken wings I came from Ireland on a day visit , needed something to eat , I’ve really been having bad wine in Ireland, this is amazing , there’s no music here though, but the people make it vibes
Good sized pub. Friendly staff and a decent selection of cheap ales. Breakfast was good 👍
Oh dear! The food wasn’t great for any in my party. Over done steaks and small portions. Grilled chicken that had clearly been microwaved. Meals missing from the order and slow service for drinks. Not a lot to be positive about. Still nice to catch up with the lads
We usually go there every other weekend to have a good time, enjoy nice budget friendly drinks, snacks and sometimes main meal. They have a lot of seating area and good selection of drinks. It’s a good budget friendly place to go hang out with your friends or family
