About This Pub
You know, I had a lovely time at the Springfield Tavern the other day, and it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt in North London. The Thai food is often the star of the show – think delicious curries and noodles that hit the spot after a long day – and it's clear from the buzz that folks really enjoy it. The staff are an absolute delight, always chatting away and making sure your glass is never empty, which adds to that warm, welcoming vibe. Plus, if you're into sports, there are heaps of screens dotted around, so you won't miss a second of the action, and the beer garden is a proper treat, all heated and covered for those unpredictable British evenings. It's also brilliant for popping in with your dog; they've got beds and treats, which is such a nice touch. On the downside, I've heard a couple of whispers that the Thai side of things has changed hands recently, and it might not be quite as reliable as it used to be – one person mentioned the menu's different and not up to the same standard. Still, with an overall rating hovering around excellent, it's worth a visit for a pint and a bite, especially if you're nearby for an event. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, as long as you go in with an open mind.

The Thai kitchen is under new management, and it seems the menu and quality might not be as consistent as before, based on some recent feedback.
-
A few mentions of potential inconsistencies in the food offerings, which could disappoint if you're expecting the old favourites.

Recent Reviews
This review is for the Thai food only as the bar is excellent and James does all he can to accommodate meetings for the local food bank. It's also a good place to work during the day.
However, the Thai restaurant is under new management (2025) and Sai is no longer there. The menu is different and not as full -- no more papaya salad, sea bass, crab or fish, no shared platter, or summer rolls, tempura. Many of the starters we were used to having were gone, no udon either -- disappointing. Starters are ok but most served with ketchup and mayo (you would think ok, Sriracha or sweet chilli sauce at the very least!). The satay was also uninspiring.
What's ok? the pad thais, we had different ones --with prawn, chicken, tofu - and the the calamari is pretty standard -- good enough but not as good as before. I am glad we can get Thai food so conveniently in Bounds Green and service is a lot quicker, but the new cooks have got some work to do to take it up a notch.
Been coming here for over 20 years. It used to be a bit of a locals pub back then but was still a great pub. In the past few years they have invested into the business and now it has brand new toilets, new seating, more TVs (both inside and outside) and a beer garden that is covered in winter with heaters and uncovered in the summer with ample seating, plants and is a proper suntrap in the afternoon. Good prices at the bar, spotlessly clean throughout, has great barstaff and has the best Thai food in north London. It also shows all the sports including Gaelic football premier league games and rugby. A very well run establishment that is going from strength to strength. I wholly recommend The Springfield Tavern, so come on down and enjoy the craic.
This is a great pub. Excellent Guinness and selection of beers/spirits and reasonable priced.
The outdoor area is spacious and perfect for summer afternoons and evenings.
The bar staff are friendly and very fast at service. The place is spotless too. 5/5
Such a great place to come. Drinks are all a reasonable price, staff are always lovely and loads of screens to watch any sport you want. They have a Thai kitchen as well that does incredible food. To top it all off, I often come in with my dog and they have dog beds and treats! 😍 🐶 🍻
Popped in on Sunday after myddleton road market. The pub seemed nice had a nice garden area too. Tried the thai food we really enjoyed it. Ordered the lamb massaman, pad thai couple of starters and a beef dish. The beef dish was out favourite. And the starters were excellent too. Enjoyed the massaman but i think i would i preferred lamb cubes of meat instead of small chops on the bone. It seemed a good place to watch sports too. Check it out if your passing by.
