About This Pub
Ah, Spouter's Corner – it's one of those trusty Wetherspoon pubs that I've popped into a few times, and honestly, it's got that easy-going charm that makes it perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates. The vibe is really lively, especially if you're there for a big game on the telly; the atmosphere just lifts everyone up, and the food and drinks are an absolute steal – think tasty meals and pints that won't empty your wallet. The staff are usually spot on, even when they're flat out busy, which adds a nice homely feel. Plus, being right by the tube station means it's dead handy for a quick stop before heading elsewhere. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of service slip-ups, like getting a cold burger or parts of your order vanishing into thin air, and they don't always handle complaints smoothly, which can leave you a bit miffed. The area's not the poshest, and there might be the occasional awkward run-in that sours the mood. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good value and a laugh, but keep your expectations realistic for the odd hiccup – that's just the way of some pubs, isn't it?
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is spot on, especially for watching big matches on TV – it's buzzing and everyone seems to be having a laugh.
-
Food and drinks are top value for money; you get fantastic grub without breaking the bank, which makes it a winner for a casual night out.
-
The staff are generally lovely, even when they're rushed off their feet, adding a friendly touch to the experience.
-
It's conveniently located near Wood Green tube station, with a nice outdoor area for when the weather's playing ball.
-
As a classic Wetherspoon, it's reliable for a good solid pint and some favourites that keep you coming back.
Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss, with issues like cold food, missing items from orders, and no refunds when things go wrong, which is a bit frustrating.
-
Some experiences involve stock problems or unhelpful responses when you raise concerns, making for a disappointing visit.
-
The area around the pub can feel a tad rough, and there have been uncomfortable encounters with other folks, which puts a damper on things.
-
Portion sizes might not always live up to expectations, like with the 'large' fish and chips that left one person underwhelmed.

I watched the final match on TV here. The atmosphere was great. The food and drink are fantastic and not pricey at all. The staffs looked very busy but nice.
Everybody looked having a good time.

A good solid Spoons! Been coming here for years and still pop back even though I no longer live locally. Food is nearly always great. Brilliant value, lovely staff. Same faces in here most day, loads of character (and characters). Love it.
6.75 for a Cold burger and 8 chips, half of kids order missing! Out of stock after I paid and then told when unhappy with the situation 'that's not how this work!' No refund! Worst experience in a spoons ever! Had to get up 5 times to correct them on order before I even got to vinegar my chips
Crazy experience here when I complained about the size of the “large" fish and chips I bought.
First mistake was sitting in front of an old man who was drinking in the early afternoon. He was staring at me. As I was leaving he began to hurl abuse. The area is rough and perhaps a pub here isn’t the best place to have a meal anymore.
I complained to the staff/female manager about the portion size, she said I’d eaten half the fish. I’d had no fish.
When I asked for the plate back she refused saying she’s not my servant!!
I’ve paid for it so please give it back to me. I’ve thrown it out she said.
I went to the kitchen and it was on the side. So I took a picture of it and the male manager assaulted me by grabbing me and forcing me out, without any warning. As a senior it’s not an ideal experience. Not only did they not refund, replace, they took the meal I paid for (the one on the picture).
The police came and said it’s a civil matter.
The area wasn’t as bad as it is now.
Sad to not be able to have a meal and soft drink.

Another good wetherspoons situated very handily for Wood Green tube station with a good outdoor area when the weather is good, all the usual wetherspoons favourites. Only stopped for a quick pint before exploring the area before a gig but would definitely pop back again.
