About This Pub

Ah, Soar Point Leicester – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this inviting vibe that's perfect for kicking back with your mates, whether you're there for a cheeky cocktail or to watch the footie. The staff really shine through in the reviews; they're quick on their feet and make you feel right at home, which is always a plus when you're out for a good time. The drinks menu is a winner too, with a brilliant range of craft beers and real ales that beer enthusiasts will rave about, paired with some solid grub that keeps everyone happy. Events like bottomless brunch add a fun twist, making it ideal for birthdays or end-of-term celebrations. On the flip side, though, there are a few whispers about past inclusivity concerns that pop up in some feedback, so it's worth noting that not everyone's experience has been entirely smooth – still, the recent reviews suggest things are generally positive. Prices are on the moderate side, which might pinch a bit if you're planning a budget night, and it does get packed during big events, so you might have to queue or book ahead. All in all, it's a solid spot that does a lot right, and I'd say it's definitely worth a visit if you're in Leicester and fancy a pint by the river – just go in with your eyes open to get the best out of it!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing and welcoming, especially for groups and students – it's a great spot to unwind with mates over a pint or cocktails.
  • Service is spot-on; the staff are friendly and attentive, making sure your drinks are topped up quickly, which really adds to the experience.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of craft beers, cocktails, and real ales, plus tasty food options that hit the spot, like wings and brunch deals.
  • Love the events and specials, such as bottomless brunch and live sport screenings – it's ideal for celebrations or just catching up with friends.
  • The location by the river with a beer garden is a real treat, perfect for soaking up the sun or enjoying a cosy evening out.
Cons
  • There have been some mentions of past inclusivity issues in reviews, which is a shame and something to keep in mind if you're heading there.
  • With its moderate prices, it might feel a tad pricey for a casual night out, especially if you're on a tight budget.
  • It can get quite busy, particularly during events, so you might end up waiting a bit for a table or service on peak days.

We came for bottomless brunch to celebrate the end of uni and the service was really good! As soon as the drinks were finished, Luke and Tom served us and made us drinks instantly. A lovely atmosphere and the food is really good too! We’ve been here three times and will keep coming back!

Soar Point in Leicester is a fantastic bar that offers a great atmosphere, especially for students, but it is welcoming to anyone looking for a relaxed and fun place to hang out. There is plenty of seating available, including large tables that are perfect for groups, so it is easy to come here with friends and all sit together comfortably. The space is well thought out and caters to different needs, whether you are there for food, drinks, games, or just to chill. There are loads of screens showing sports, pool tables to enjoy, board games on the shelves, and even a photo booth for some extra fun. The outdoor seating area looks out onto the water which gives it a really nice touch. One of the best parts is the regular deals on both food and drinks throughout the week, and they even host a bingo night on Thursdays which adds a fun twist. Another great feature is the availability of USB ports and plug sockets around the bar. I have brought my laptop here a few times to get some work done, and the environment is really chilled and comfortable for that. The staff are always friendly and helpful which creates a very welcoming vibe. The only downside is the very strong smell of urine in the toilets, which is quite unpleasant and really lets the place down. Aside from that issue, Soar Point is a cool, student-friendly venue that is well worth a visit whether you are looking to relax, watch sports, socialise, or get a bit of work done.

Nice place, lots of beers, wings day on wednesdays. I cannot believe "racism" accusations in reviews (I am not british). I haven't witnessed any racism in 2 years I've been in Leicester. I strongly recommend the place. Very nice place to have different beers next to river.

Nice pub on the River Soar bank. Nice atmosphere, cosy place and good food at a reasonable price. One of the few left which serves authentic Real Ales and Crafts ciders!
