About This Pub
Oh, I have to say, The Castle is one of those pubs that just draws you in with its character – tucked away in Leicester's historic area, it's got this cosy, atmospheric feel that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint. The beers are an absolute highlight; they've got a fantastic range of real cask ales from all sorts of brewers, and it's always fun seeing what's new on tap. The staff are dead lovely too, making everyone feel welcome, and it's brilliant that they've thought about families with the baby-friendly setup. On the food front, the sandwiches and cakes are proper tasty treats, but fair warning, you might end up waiting a while for them, and that chilli could use a bit more moisture to really shine. It's not the cheapest spot around, which might catch you off guard, and I reckon they'd do well to crank up the music just a tad for a bit more buzz. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, as long as you're in the mood for a relaxed pace and some top-notch brews.

5 out of 5. Friendly service, quality and selection of beers were great. Baby friendly.
I love this little gem of a pub - very special.
The beer and selection of drinks are brilliant, constantly changing which is always fab to try something new ❤️
Probably sell the best cheese and onion crusty cob in the UK! 😉
Great food...I generally take away rather than eat in. Chilli is very dry but all the sandwiches are really lovely and the cakes and pastries are always a nice selection. Not a cheap meal by any stretch of the imagination but really tasty and nice options.
Downside is the wait...I am often left running back to work with my food in my hand as I have been caught in a big queue which is tricky. I would advise at lunchtime you only buy the ready made sandwiches and *do not* order anything that needs to be made as it can be a really long wait.
Staff are always friendly and chatting and there is a little covered outdoor area nearby. The usual barman is very friendly and full of flair spinning bottles and doing neat little tricks. Pub inside is a bit small but cosy and certainly full of character.
Atmospheric small pub in the heart of historic Leicester.
Excellent beer, lovely staff, cosy and gorgeous interior. Could do with music playing a few decibels louder!
Now if you are in Leicester you must go to The Castle public house, which is situated in an ancient part of the town near the Leicester castle gate. The pub has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere and a great selection of beers, wines and spirits.
