About This Pub
Ah, Six Bells – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Cambridge, you know? From what I've gathered, folks really rave about the cozy atmosphere; it's got this warm, authentic vibe with comfy spots to settle in, whether you're in the bars, the conservatory, or out in the garden on a sunny day. The drinks are a highlight too – they've nailed the Guinness and offer a solid lineup of real ales that keep things interesting, plus wines and spirits for those who fancy something different. And let's not forget the live events; it's brilliant for a night out with some music or games like pool and darts. On the flip side, it does kick off a bit late in the afternoon, so if you're an early bird, you might have to plan around that. Plus, while the staff are top-notch and make everyone feel welcome, the online presence could use a refresh – it feels a smidge stuck in the past. Overall, though, I'd say it's worth a visit for a chilled pint; it's got that heartwarming pub charm that makes you want to come back, but keep in mind it might not be buzzing every night.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely charming and cozy, making it a perfect spot to unwind with friends over a pint.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including what many call the best Guinness in town, plus a great range of real ales and guest beers.
-
Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, always ready with a smile and helpful advice.
-
Live music and events add a lively buzz, especially if you're into checking out what's on via their socials.
-
Plenty of seating options, from comfy sofas in the conservatory to a lovely patio garden for when the weather's nice.
Cons
-
Opening hours start a bit late in the day, so it's not ideal if you're looking for a spot to pop in earlier.
-
The website feels a tad outdated and repetitive, which might not give the best first impression before you visit.
-
Not much recent chatter online, which could mean it's flying under the radar these days, even though it's a solid choice.

Favourite pub. Great live events!
Six bells is a great cozy pub with an awesome atmosphere. They have live music very often, check their Facebook page for updates
Nice and cozy pub, me and my BF came here for first time and it has lovely vibe, nice, friendly and helpful staff. Good range of drinks and plenty seating inside and outside in garden area. Good place to come and relax and have a pint of beer.
A cool place I kind of randomly choose because it was close to where I was staying and I didn't regret.
It feels very authentic, it doesn't try to be something specific other than a nice place to be.
Down to earth and a nice atmosphere with a friendly guy behind the bar, decor not sure how to describe it and here it doesn't really matter.
Great pub. Sells good ales, food and has great music
