About This Pub
Ah, Sir Charles Napier – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway in Walsall, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, friendly buzz that makes you want to linger a bit longer, especially with the jukebox spinning tunes instead of the telly droning on about the news. The drinks are dead cheap, which is brilliant if you're popping in for a quick pint or meeting up with friends before a Walsall game – the atmosphere really shines then. But, let's be honest, it's not without its flaws; the selection's a bit on the basic side, with mostly bog-standard lagers, and some folks have mentioned the staff not being overly chatty, which can make the place feel a touch underwhelming on quieter nights. Still, with that old-school charm and affordable prices, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out, as long as you're not after anything too fancy. Overall, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just go in with the right expectations and you'll likely have a good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly, making it a great spot to unwind with mates.
-
Drinks are super affordable, which is always a win for us budget-conscious folk.
-
It's got that classic old-school pub charm, with things like a jukebox and pool table to keep things lively.
-
Perfect for a quick meet-up before or after local events, like Walsall matches, with a brilliant vibe.
Cons
-
The drink selection can be a bit limited, mostly sticking to cheap lagers and bitters, so it's not the place for fancy cocktails.
-
Staff might not always be the chattiest; some reviews mention the landlord seeming a tad uninterested.
-
You might miss out on watching the footie on TV, as it's not always on, which could disappoint on match days.
-
It's a straightforward boozer without much in the way of modern touches, so it feels a bit basic at times.

Can't lie napier always love the place, a classic old skool boozer but still turn tele off n put some tunes on. Might just stay abit longer. The 6/7 news depressing lol. No one wana hear tht.
Any port in a storm was the order of the day here. Poor selection of cheap lagers and a keg bitter. Landlord could barely be bothered even saying hello. Some of the locals were friendly enough. But hey - at least it was open!
Great friendly pub with a selection of cheap drinks 🍺🍹🍾🍸🥃🥤 Great place to meet before and after the Walsall matches Brilliant atmosphere and most Definitely a 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating
No football on TV but considering that hotel by the ground is a quarantine hotel, the King Henry has closed down and the Saddlers bar is home fans only this place had to do. It wasn't bad.
