About This Pub

Ah, The Waterfront in Walsall – it's one of those pubs that really captures the essence of a good British spot, nestled right by the canal for that extra touch of charm. From the website, it sounds like a vibrant place where you can pop in for a bite or a bevvy, with family in tow, thanks to all the thoughtful facilities. I love how they've got deals like the £10 specials, making it easy on the wallet for a solid meal, and the reviews mention tasty food with plenty of options, which is always a win when you're in the mood for proper pub fare. That said, it's not all smooth sailing; one review highlighted a lengthy wait for food without so much as a sorry, which could leave you twiddling your thumbs. Still, with an average rating of 4.3 from the recent bunch, it seems most folks have had a jolly good time, especially with the quick service and freebies like drinks on Mother's Day. If you're planning a visit, I'd say go for it on a weekday to snag those deals, but keep in mind it might be best to have a bit of patience on hand. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, balancing the highs of great value and a friendly vibe with the occasional slip-up.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location by the Walsall Canal is just lovely, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed drink or meal with a waterside view.
  • It's genuinely family-friendly with facilities like disabled access and WiFi, so you can bring the whole gang without any hassle.
  • They've got some cracking deals, like tucking into selected dishes for just £10 on weekdays – great value for hearty pub grub.
  • From what I've heard, the food can be spot on when it arrives, with plenty of variety and good portions that leave you satisfied.
  • The service shines in the right moments, like when the staff are attentive and quick, making for a pleasant experience overall.
Cons
  • There can be long waits for food, with one chap mentioning a 40-minute delay and no apology, which puts a bit of a dampener on things.
  • With only a handful of reviews, it's hard to get a full picture, and that one negative experience stands out in an otherwise positive set.
  • The business isn't claimed by the owner, which might mean it's not getting the attention it deserves to sort out any niggles.
  • While the website lists solid opening hours, the operating status is a bit unclear, so it might be worth double-checking before heading out.

Kayleigh was a lovely waitress! Really tasty mother’s day meal, got two free drinks for the mothers with us. Lots and lots of variety and the food came out very quickly and we had no complaints. Proper pub food and good value for money.
