About This Pub

Ah, the Shoe Makers in Norwich – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a reliable old mate, you know? Tucked away on the quieter side of town, it's got this inviting atmosphere where you can pop in for a bite or to cheer on the team during big matches like the Women's Euros. The food's a real winner; think generous portions of roasts and breakfasts that are cooked up nicely and won't leave you out of pocket. Plus, the staff are an absolute delight, always ready with a smile and quick service that makes the whole visit feel effortless. It's spot on for families too, with outdoor play bits to keep the little ones entertained. On the downside, I've heard a few tales of the bathrooms not being as spotless as they'd like, and sometimes the cooking isn't quite on point, like when the bacon's a tad underdone. Still, it's a solid spot for a laid-back evening, and if you time it right, you'll avoid any busier moments that might show up its rough edges. All in all, it's worth a punt for a good night out without the fuss.

Hi, often have breakfast here, today took family for a get together as it is Sunday. Service was excellent as always, the breakfast was good, the bacon just not as well cooked as usual. I can recommend here totally though, good value food cooked much better than many branded places and without needing a mortgage to buy it like you do in the Golden Triangle and the lanes in Norwich 🙂🤘🙂

Absolutely disgusting experience, bathrooms were straight out of a horror film; food was okay, service was acceptable, but the tube full of rubbish where we were eating, and the toilets, ruins everything. Rubbish all over the floor, id hate to see the cleanliness of their kitchen.

The second coming, appropriately at Easter for a whistle stop meeting with my daughter & boyfriend. Where can you get a roast dinner all day & for £11 with a drink? The Shoe Makers, Norwich. It really is cheap n cheerful but in the best way. The roasts & fish n chips were cooked to perfection & piping hot & a salad I had last month, outside, was fresh, crisp & had a delicious dressing. The interior is interesting, colourful & indicative to Norwich. The reason for the review, is the staff. Hadley the Barman, since only Dec(!) is professional, knowledgeable, approachable, and so damn cheerful! One can see he is a kind, honest, good person that likes people & service. He is a real asset to any establishment, so keep your eyes open & don’t let him go Shoe Makers Management. You can teach customer service & hospitality, but Hadley is a natural. I also met the Assistant Manager, Harrison. A lovely, warm, friendly chap, who also exudes charm & professionalism. Either wouldn’t be out of place in Mayfair. Happy Easter x
