About This Pub

Oh, Sea Horse Fleet Street is just the ticket if you're after a proper, down-to-earth pub experience in bustling London. I love how they've nailed the basics – the drinks are reasonably priced with some cracking offers that won't break the bank, and it's a brilliant spot to catch live sports or dive into a bit of karaoke on Thursdays. The staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really adds to the warm, community vibe. It's conveniently tucked away near St. Paul’s, making it easy to pop in after exploring the city. On the flip side, it does get packed during busy hours, so you might end up elbow-to-elbow if you're not there early, and the hours can wrap up a bit sooner on quieter days, which is a shame if you're hoping for a proper all-nighter. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together – honest, fun, and just what you need without any pretences.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are incredibly affordable, with great value offers that make it a wallet-friendly spot for a pint or two after work.
  • It's got a really welcoming atmosphere, perfect for catching live sports on SKY and TNT, or even joining in on karaoke nights for a laugh.
  • Friendly staff who go the extra mile – think shout-outs for brilliant service that make you feel right at home.
  • Convenient location near St. Paul’s Cathedral and tube stations, ideal for a quick stop-off whether you're a local or just visiting.
  • Fun extras like darts and late-night vibes on weekends add a bit of excitement to your evening out.
Cons
  • The pub can get quite busy in the city centre, especially during peak times, which might make it a tad cramped for a relaxed chat.
  • Operating hours vary a bit, with earlier closes on some days, so it's not always the spot for a late-night session.
  • It feels like a standard community pub without anything particularly unique, so if you're after something fancy, it might not quite hit the mark.

🚇 Mansion House 🍺 £6.65 Cruzcampo The Sea Horse is located in the City of London, close to St Paul’s Cathedral. The nearest Tube is Mansion House. This single storey flat roof pub was built in 1959 and was originally a Courage house. The pub was built at the same time as 20 Canon Street, a six storey office building which rises up behind it. This is a small but perfectly formed one bar pub that is set out in a semicircle. The servery is located on the back wall and stretches the length of the bar. To the right of the servery is a Dartboard, to the left is a large map of the City of London. The decor consists of a boarded floor, poser tables and stools, a mix of light and dark painted walls plus a few large Tv screens. Overall the pub felt smart and well presented. The beer line up offers a selection of well known brews and included one cask ale. I opted for a Cruzcampo, my pint was enjoyable, price point was a little punchy. There is no food served here but there are a variety of bar snacks to choose from. I arrived just after 1pm on a rainy Thursday lunchtime in February. The pub was fairly quiet, there were a couple of punters having a game of arrows, a solo office worker watching the world go by and two sons taking their mum out for a few drinks around the City. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed, the post work session was due to start soon, the pub then gets very busy. The service was great, I was served by a friendly member of the team who was welcoming and chatty. This pub shows live Premier League and Champions League football on SKY and TNT and also hosts Karaoke on Thursdays and DJ’s on Fridays. The City of London has a diverse mix of pubs that range from atmospheric historic hostelries to some fairly bland soulless bars. It was great to see that the City of London has a lesser spotted Flat Roof Pub to visit, this makes this pub very unique. A good choice of beers, a friendly environment and a unique setting make The @seahorse.fleetstreet one to add to your list. 📅 20th February 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

Nice pub around the corner from St. Pauls. Decent choice of beers, and the prices are quite reasonable for the location.

Really enjoyed my evening here. Nice friendly pub and great choice of drinks at affordable prices. Team were welcoming (special shout out to Wayne for fab service!) and really enjoyed playing a few games of darts on the board they have there.
