About This Pub
Ah, the Royal Oak – it's one of those places that just warms your heart when you step inside, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, it's got this eclectic, welcoming feel that makes it perfect for a casual pint or a catch-up with friends over some top-notch ales and craft beers. The food's a real highlight too; think delicious pub grub like that steak night deal, which seems to offer brilliant value without skimping on quality. And if you're looking for a quick getaway, the guesthouse rooms are cosy little havens with clean, comfy beds – ideal for a solo trip or a mini adventure with pals. The beer garden is another gem, especially on a sunny evening when you can soak up the atmosphere outside. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; a few people have mentioned some quirky rules, like the kitchen shutting at 6 pm, which might cut short your plans for a proper meal. Plus, the operating hours can be a bit unclear, so it's worth double-checking to avoid disappointment. Overall, though, with a solid 4.4 rating from heaps of reviews, it's a reliable choice for a good night out or a comfortable stay – just go in with your eyes open, and you'll likely have a cracking time!

Recent Reviews
I recently stayed at The Royal Oak Pub Hotel in London. This place mixes a cozy pub vibe with comfy rooms, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the city.
Room Quality
The rooms were clean and tidy. They weren’t huge, but they had everything I needed, and the bed was super comfy.
Check-In Process
One thing to keep in mind is that check-in is only until 23:00. If you’re arriving late, that can be a bit of a hassle, so plan accordingly!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend The Royal oak Pub Hotel. Clean rooms, a great pub, Just make sure you get there before check-in closes!
Really cute pub. Was there to just chill for 2 drinks. We took a walk outside down the hill & enjoyed sunset. Also sat both outside and inside and it was nice.
Bathroom was good too.
We went on a Thursday evening and it was steak night. They took 4 of us to a nice table (we hadn't booked) and we had a very nice 8oz steak with a drink ( pint of london pride in my case) for £20.
Food was really good and excellent value. Good atmosphere and weren't rushed out of the door. Son has just bought a house 5 mins away, it's a good watering hole to have on his dorstep
We used to come here a lot as it's one of our locals. We even celebrated our daughter's first birthday here and it was a lovely day!
Until the weird rules started out of nowhere.. We visited last Saturday and the kitchen was closed at 18:00!! I'm pretty sure we had dinners there even later than that and on weekdays let alone Saturday.. Another day we got kicked out at 20:00 because we had the baby with us.. The place was not busy and not crazy stuff was going on.. Yet, out of nowhere, they asked us to leave..
Also drinks are not allowed outside after 22:00 (used to be 23:00) and not allowed to smoke in front ( sometimes..)
It looks like policies and rules are applied on demand...
Not coming back anytime soon until customer service is improved.
Bit late to the table with this review! Had a 60th Birthday get together of about 30 people here last April on the recommendation of a friend. Told the staff well in advance & they reserved some tables for us. The whole evening was fantastic, great beer wine & cocktails. The bar food was excellent too! All of the staff were attentive, happy, friendly & made all of us very welcome, as did the regulars! We stayed the night in one of the rooms which was impeccably clean & well maintained......great breakfast too.
Cannot recommend highly enough!!
