About This Pub
You know, when you fancy a proper pub experience without any fuss, the Rose & Castle really hits the spot. I've heard from so many folks that the food is just brilliant – everything's made fresh and cooked to perfection, whether you're going for a hearty Sunday lunch or something from the main menu. The team there are dead helpful too, always going the extra mile to make sure you're looked after, which makes it feel like a friendly local hangout rather than just another spot. It's conveniently placed near the M6, so it's ideal if you're passing through or meeting up with mates for a bite. On the flip side, it does get packed out sometimes, so booking ahead is a smart move to avoid waiting around. And while the reviews are mostly glowing, there was that one comment about a minor fault, which reminds you that no place is perfect. All in all, it's a cracking choice for a relaxed meal, and I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – you won't be disappointed, but just keep those little details in mind for the best visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely top-notch – it's all home-cooked with fresh ingredients, from tasty starters right through to delicious desserts, making every meal feel special.
-
The service is spot on; the staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring you have a fantastic experience whether you're popping in with mates or the family.
-
It's in a brilliant location, just off the M6 near Coventry, so it's easy to get to and perfect for a relaxed stop-off or a catch-up with friends.
-
With a solid 4.5-star rating from loads of reviews, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a great time, with plenty of praise for the atmosphere and overall vibe.
Cons
-
It can get fully booked quite quickly, especially on busy nights, so you'll want to ring ahead to snag a table and avoid disappointment.
-
The opening hours seem a bit limited in the evenings and might not suit everyone, so it's worth double-checking the times before heading out.
-
While most experiences are brilliant, there was a mention in one review of a small niggle – though it's not specified, it could mean the odd hiccup with service or something else pops up.

Fantastic warm welcome from that first phone call, Steven! You were so accommodating and nothing was too much for you. Superb experience and you did so much for us. Food and service were exquisite, the whole team loved it. Thank you and your crew for this magnificent experience. We shall be back!
We visited as a group of 8 and had fabulous service from start to finish. All of the dishes were excellently presented and tasted as good as they looked. Can't fault a thing. Sorry didn't take any pics
Visited on a Sunday eve about 5.30 and were politely told kitchen closed at 6. We were given the Sunday menu but asked if it were possible to have something off the weekday menu; they were so helpful. Nothing was a problem and all our food was delightful; outstanding really. Up there with the best pub food we’ve had. Way better than soulless pub chain food that is everywhere these days.
We had planned to come to Ansty on our travels on the canal and knew about the Rose and Castle! We were going to come here for food but didn’t book as were no certain we would make it! We went on a Wednesday night and it was fully booked so we had to sit outside! However, food still came quickly and the staff were incredibly friendly! Reasonable prices too! If you want to come here, make sure to book!
Really nice pub and restaurant, staff were really welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The menu was very extensive and a small nice selection of draft beer and larger. The meals size was amazing, more than enough to fill even the fattest of belly ! Lol. The only fault from our visit was that we ended up on a table literally at the bar, which wasn't over inviting when we had people stood around us waiting and drinking at the bar, but in fairness to the staff they did try to move people along so we didn't get crowded. Thank you ! Overall Highly recommend and well worth a visit and we will most definitely be eating and drinking here again.
