About This Pub

Ah, the Corner House – it's one of those local spots that really tries to be the heart of the community, and in many ways, it succeeds. I love how welcoming it feels when you walk in; the staff are always up for a chat and treat you like you're part of the gang, which makes it ideal for a relaxed catch-up with friends or family. The beer garden is a standout feature, especially on a nice day, where you can soak up the sun with a cold drink and maybe even bring the dog along for the fun – it's all about that easygoing vibe. They've got a solid menu with pub classics and lighter options, and the events like quiz nights add a bit of excitement to the week. On the flip side, though, it's not without its downsides; I've heard a few tales of the dining area being a bit untidy, with tables left messy from previous groups, which can spoil the mood if you're hoping for a spotless sit-down. Then there's the odd complaint about the food not quite living up to expectations, like a Sunday roast that felt more reheated than homemade, and service that sometimes needs a gentle nudge to get going. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual outing in Bedworth, especially if you're after a family-friendly place with outdoor space, but it'd be even better with a bit more attention to those finer details – worth a visit if you're in the area, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a good time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates over a pint.
  • It's a brilliant spot for families, with an indoor play area and a kids' menu packed with classics and fun twists to keep the little ones happy.
  • The beer garden is a real gem, seating up to 80 folks for a sunny afternoon of drinks and good times outdoors.
  • They're super dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your furry companion for a bite and a bevvy without any fuss.
  • There's a great selection of beers, wines, and reasonably priced non-alcoholic options, plus events like quiz nights to liven things up.
Cons
  • The dining area can sometimes be a bit messy, with tables and floors not cleared promptly, which puts a damper on the experience.
  • Food quality has had its off days; for instance, the Sunday roast didn't impress one visitor, tasting more like a quick microwave job than a proper meal.
  • Service might not always hit the mark, as some have had to chase staff more than once for simple things, which can feel a tad frustrating.

The dining area was dirty and messy. We had to ask twice for it to be cleared - previous peoples dinners all over the floor/tables. My husband had the Sunday roast, he said it was the worst he had eaten (said it tasted like a microwave meal) - he told the lady at the bar, and all she said was ‘oh ok’. Not a very good experience, and we won’t be returning again.

We were seated almost immediately to a table of nine. The atmosphere is very nice, with well signed toilets and an interesting selection of areas including a children's play area. Toilets were average. Décor is nice. The non-alcoholic drinks were very reasonably priced, however the alcohol on the flip side was needlessly expensive. We waited an average amount of time for our food but the food quality upon arrival was mixed at best. Some food came out as average as the price would suggest; that to say, pretty good. Other areas of the food were very poor: naan bread that was undercooked and doughy, fries that were unseasoned and soggy and the worst part was the pizza. The pizza was obviously way overcooked, toppings were barely existing at best, and you couldn't even cut it with a pizza cutter, we called on a waiter but we're told that is just how it was. Most of our table had something to complain about, usually along the lines of dry and flavourless; and personally my food was below par and was fairly obviously just reheated - tasted frozen-section store-bought in my opinion. The desserts were just labelled as okay, so that's the second star for the food. Overall our stay was mediocre at best, would not recommend for anything other than a group of refreshing beverages for a family as it does cater well to such. Edit: This was written before we got a microwaved apple crumble and everyone's honest opinion on the food. Food demoted to 1 star.

wow wow wow! Where do I start. I was only going to pop in for a quick drink with my granddaughter and my dog. Very good selection of hot drinks as-well as beers, ciders, etc! As soon as we sat down and had a Quick Look at the menu we just had to order some food as it had some of our favourite meals on there it was hard to pick from. I went for the fish and chips and when it arrived I was shocked on how massive the fish actually was. It was absolutely beautiful. My granddaughter had hunters chicken and even I was jealous because of how amazing it looked. 10/10 for presentation and taste. The staff brought over a bowl of water for my little dog of course had a little fuss they even had a treat bowl for dogs which I though is an amazing idea which you don’t see around in places much. They have a lot of events on, monthly carboot, breakfast, kids disco every Saturday, quiz every month and so much more. Really have made it into a fantastic pub. Also have a kids area for your little kids to run around with tablet screens, and lots of little activities. Another thing they also have it bookshelves full of all different books and you make a small donation which goes to charity kids to adult books so much selection which we though was an amazing idea! A very well done to the managers and the staff who run the pub. If you are driving past stop it. One amazing pub.

Despite only living a short walk away, we don't really frequent The Corner House, despite not being regulars, they welcomed us, were polite, friendly and efficient ... we'd gone in on-spec, as we wanted to get away from the painting and decorating! We only really went in for fish and chips, but there was such a marvellous selection on the menu, we changed our minds....I had an excellent stake and ale pie, chips and mushy peas, served piping hot with excellent gravy, my wife plumped for the meal-deal and had the scampi, followed by a very light jam sponge pudding, which was hot, as was the custard; so Full Marks. We both felt that the chips were excellent, very crispy, just how we like them. We really enjoyed our meal...plus I don't have to cook tea tonight.😁😁😁
