About This Pub
Ah, the Rockingham Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local favourite, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this warm, buzzing atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding after a day out in the South Yorkshire countryside. The staff really shine through; they're attentive and make every visit feel special, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or celebrating something big like a wedding anniversary. The food's generally a winner too, with hearty options and deals that keep things affordable, and I love that it's so accommodating for families and dogs – makes it easy to bring the whole gang along. Plus, if you're staying over, the rooms sound comfy and well put together. On the flip side, it's not flawless; a few folks have mentioned that some dishes didn't quite hit the spot, like an overcooked lamb pie that left them a bit underwhelmed. Still, with an overall solid rating and plenty of rave reviews for the service and setting, I'd say it's worth a visit – just keep an eye on those specials and book if you're keen on a table. All in all, it's a balanced spot that does the classics well and adds a nice touch of character to your pub crawl.

What an amazing 15th year wedding anniversary we had in the restaurant at the Rockingham arm's at Wentworth. John the waiter was a delight and there was nothing better we could have wished for. Huge thank you to the chef and all the staff for making us feel so special 5+ stars from both Jayne and Craig 👏🫶
Spacious well presented rooms across the road from the pub, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Good parking for motorbikes. Beautiful village in walking distance of Wentworth Woodhouse estate. Half an hour to explore the Peak District National Park.
Friendly and attentive staff in the pub (special mention to the South African waiter, he was very friendly and funny 😁). Breakfast was generous, evening meals a little hit and miss (ingredients missing 😔) but worth the money and tasty. All in all highly recommended.

We have just come back from having lunch at the Rockingham arms, I just needed to say we were quite disappointed.
The place is beautiful, and we couldn’t fault the staff, one gentleman in particular was extremely attentive, I believe he was quite new to the post.
My son and I ordered the lamb shepherds pie which was delicious, though the menu stated we would get minted peas but we just got standard garden peas. Our main disappointment was my husbands Sunday lunch, he ordered the turkey and when it came he had one tiny slice of turkey, which was incredibly dry and had a lot of fat on it, it was pretty poor for the price, with a few roast potatoes and boiled veg.
It was our first visit and I don’t think we will return for a Sunday lunch based on the portion given today, which is a real shame as it’s such a lovely place.
Stayed overnight for our anniversary and the staff were fantastic from arrival to departure. Hotel was quiet, bed was incredibly comfortable and room was decorated to a high standard. Food and drink was lovely and great value for money, will definitely be back.
We celebrated my sons wedding here yesterday and everything was wonderful. The staff worked incredibly hard and nothing was too much trouble. The sit down meal for 65 people was enjoyed by everyone with large portion sizes and quality ingredients. The rooms were excellent. Beautiful large beds and modern bathroom. I would recommend this venue
