About This Pub
You know, chatting about Robinsons Bar in Belfast, it's one of those places that really stands out for its long history and that cosy, lived-in feel – imagine popping into a spot that's been around since 1895, with different nooks like the Saloon for catching the match or the Pool Loft for a cheeky game. From what I've gathered from the buzz online, the food's a real highlight for many, with massive portions that leave you satisfied and at a fair price for the area, plus the odd gem like those cracking onion rings. The staff often get a thumbs up too, stepping up with friendly service that makes a night out smoother. But let's be straight, it's not all perfect – a few have mentioned some menu items falling flat, like the Irish stew that was a bit bland despite the tender meat, or nachos that didn't quite deliver. And while the service is generally good, it can sometimes lack that extra warmth you'd expect in a proper pub setting. All in all, if you're after a versatile spot for drinks, eats, and entertainment, it's worth a go, but maybe keep expectations in check for the finer details – it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's got that classic Belfast pub charm with a history dating back to 1895, making it feel properly authentic and welcoming.
-
Plenty of variety under one roof, from the lively Saloon for live sport to the Pool Loft for a game, and even a Bistro for decent grub.
-
The food often hits the spot with generous portions and good value, especially in the city centre – think tasty onion rings and a solid pub lunch.
-
Service is generally top-notch, with staff who go the extra mile, like making sure everyone feels looked after during a busy night.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit disappointing, like the nachos or Irish stew that lacked flavour, even if the beef was tender.
-
The service isn't always as warm as you'd hope; it can feel a touch impersonal at times, based on what folks have said.
-
With so many areas and entertainment options, it might get a bit overwhelming or inconsistent depending on when you visit.

Good value for Belfast city centre. Onion rings were very good. Nachos not so much so. Didn't finish them. Good service. Nicely refurbished decor since last visit
Generally nice place. Food is okay. Service need a little more warmth.
Great place for a Guinness and a pub lunch. Staff were great and it was good to be able to go play pool in the lift afterwards.
We were at both both the restaurant and the pub St. Patrick's day eve. The staff at both, specifically the pub were amazing. We loved the atmosphere and the live music was outstanding. Unfortunately, the Irish stew was not good, with the exception of the beef was very tender but all tasteless even after adding a lot of salt and pepper. Guinness was very good at both pub and restaurant
My favourite bar in Belfast! The food is delicious and huge portions, the service is wonderful and there are different rooms with different entertainment depending on what you want on the day- live music, pool, a bistro. Special shout out to Maria who really went above and beyond with customer service, particularly to reunite me with an item I left behind!!
