About This Pub
Ah, Ridgacre Table Table in West Bromwich – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate for a bite and a drink, but with a few quirks that keep it from being perfect. I have to say, the staff really shine through; they're always chipping in with a smile and making sure everyone's sorted, which adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. The beer garden is an absolute gem on a sunny day, and with deals like two meals for under a tenner, it's brilliant for keeping things affordable without skimping on portions – plus, they've got some cracking vegan and veggie options that cater to all tastes. And if you're into your footie, it's a cracking spot to catch the live action with TNT Sports. On the flip side, though, service can be a bit patchy; I've heard tales of waiting around to be seated or food taking its sweet time, which might put a dampener on things, especially if you're with a group. The venue itself looks a bit tired in places, like it could use a spruce-up to match the friendly vibe. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just pop in with realistic expectations and maybe book ahead to avoid any hassles – it's got that homely pub feel, but with room for improvement to make it truly standout.

-
Plenty of vegan and veggie choices on the menu, with generous portions that leave you satisfied.
-
It's a top spot for watching live sports, showing things like the Premier League, so you can cheer on your team with a pint.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit hit or miss, with some folks waiting ages to be seated or dealing with delays in getting their food.
-
The place feels a tad worn out in spots, like the carpets could do with a good clean or a full refresh to liven things up.
-
There have been times when tables are scarce, leading to being shunted to the bar area even when it's not that busy.
-
Food service might take a while, which can be frustrating if you're in a hurry or with a group.

A group of 6 of us attended the Ridgacre tonight and we will not be returning. The issues started from the second we walked in the door.
The first issue was several members of staff walked past us before approaching us (we were waiting by the ‘please wait here to be seated sign’). We were then directed to another desk to wait to be seated. It then took approximately 5 minutes for anyone to come to this desk. We were then shown to a table. We sat down and ordered some drinks.
We had to wait a long time before our drinks arrived. We then ordered our food - every single item the waitress was overly pushy for us to upgrade for more food.
Our starters took over half an hour to arrive and when they did they were poor quality. The prawns had very little prawn in them and the menu stated they would be in a tempura batter - they were absolutely not. They were rock hard. On mentioning this to the waitress she did take these off our bill. The waitress herself even admitted she had tried these before and not enjoyed them.
We then had to wait another half an hour or so for our mains. 2 out of the 6 mains came stone cold - we complained about this and then we were asked if we wanted fresh food or this food reheated - we asked for fresh. The ‘new food’ came out very quickly (too quickly for fresh food to have been cooked) and still was not overly warm. We also believe this had been reheated not served fresh. Somehow the request for fresh food had got lost on the waitress’ journey to the kitchen from our table. The steak was not cooked well on these meals either. There had been poor quality cheese thrown on the top of some chicken and a singular piece of bacon thrown in the middle of the plate - this was the smothered platter. Some of the meals were nice and some were average.
Before everyone had finished eating, the waitress had started clearing the plates from the table from those who had finished - again a sign of poor service as this made the people who were still eating feel rushed as the bill was being sorted whilst still eating.
The waitress had also made a few comments about ‘the day I’ve had’ etc which I feel unprofessional as frankly how her day has gone is not relevant to the paying customer.
We did not leave a tip for obvious reasons. We were given the name of the waitress and the ‘chef’ which I will leave below - I’m surprised they were even willing to share this information after what an awful experience we had. We were surprised we were asked to leave a review.
We will not be returning to this establishment and I would recommend everyone avoids this venue.
Name of waitress: Aaliyah
Name of ‘chef’ (someone who cannot successfully microwave food): Mikey
This pub has so much potential, it's in a lovely location, with a beautiful building and a great beer garden. Unfortunately, the experience of eating here really lets it down.
On multiple occasions, I’ve been told to sit in the bar area to eat because there “weren’t enough tables,” even though the dining area was nearly empty. It’s unclear whether this is due to poor staffing or just a lack of willingness to accommodate. When I have managed to get a proper table, service has been very slow, it’s often quicker to just order at the bar.
The biggest letdown is the food. I've had food poisoning here once (I won’t be going near the chicken curry again), and most of the meals seem microwaved but are still priced like freshly cooked dishes. On top of that, the menu is often limited because items are out of stock.
That said, the pub is still worth visiting for drinks. The bar staff are always friendly, service at the bar is quick, and the drink selection is excellent.
Just don’t come expecting a good meal.
This restaurant was next to the Premier Inn where we were staying so we had our breakfasts there.
We also had an evening meal on one of the days.
The food was average, and it took awhile for it to be served.
The entire place needed a refit as it was tired and the carpets needed either deep cleaning or a new one.
Staff were nice though. 😊👍
Been here a few times and service has always been fantastic. This time we decided to come pretty last minute, we booked last night for a table of 15 for today and they got us in no problems, and service was absolutely fantastic yet again. Brilliant vegan and veggie options, great sized portions, reasonably priced and always so friendly and happy to help. Wonderful family pub, we’ll always come here for our family meals! ❤️
I tend to come here to enjoy the lovely beer garden in the summer. Popped in today at lunchtime with the weather hitting almost 40°C. Relaxed under a parasol with a cider, and then ordered food from the daytime menu, with two meals for £9.49.
The staff here are very friendly and polite, like to the point that you notice how nice they are. Fantastic service. The food was great, I expected the quality to diminish with the price, but it really didn't. Definitely recommend.
