About This Pub

Ah, Red House Farm Public House in Whitley Bay – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its charm, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are absolute gems; they're so approachable and make every visit feel like catching up with old mates. The food's another winner – those Sunday dinners and pies come highly praised for being flavoursome and plentiful, perfect for a proper feed after a walk along the coast. It's also spot on for families or if you're popping in with the dog, as they've got all the right touches to make everyone comfortable. On the flip side, though, it's not all rosy; a couple of people have noted that the grub can sometimes turn up a tad cool or with skimpy sides, and the overall vibe might not always live up to the excitement of a bustling pub – it can feel a bit quiet on certain days. Still, with a solid 4.2 rating buzzing around, it's worth a punt if you're in the area, especially for a relaxed meal or a quick pint. All in all, it's a decent local haunt that does the basics well, but like any spot, it has room to shine even brighter.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and great service that makes you feel right at home.
  • The food is a real highlight – think delicious Sunday roasts with generous portions, tasty pies, and even some terrific tapas that leave you satisfied.
  • It's a fantastic spot for families or those with furry friends, offering a kids' menu, high chairs, baby changing facilities, and a warm welcome for dogs.
  • They've got good deals and options for events, like watching the footy or special nights, making it a versatile choice for a casual outing.
Cons
  • A few folks have mentioned the food arriving a bit cold or not quite up to scratch, like with portions of veg that could do with a boost.
  • The atmosphere can feel a little flat at times, lacking that lively buzz you might hope for in a traditional pub setting.
  • With no website listed, it's a bit tricky to check out menus or book ahead, which might put some off planning a visit.

We had a table booked for 12 today to watch the Carabao Cup Final. Food was pre-ordered days earlier and was served on arrival. The adults had Sunday lunch which was a great portion and incredibly delicious. The beef was on the right side of pink and very tasty. Lots of vegetables offered and plentiful. All of our group would highly recommend and will be back. Kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and the brownie dessert. Very reasonable for the portion size. Can’t recommend enough - will be back! Thanks to Joanna for all your help getting our booking in and making it a cup final to remember!! 🖤🤍

An average Sunday dinner. A little on the cold and side for me and definitely not enough vegetables for our party of four. Staff very friendly and obliging but the place had no atmosphere whatsoever. Not a place we'd want to return to.

Can here for North Tyneside Restaurant week, however worked out cheaper to use their in house deal for pies (Wednesday night). Had two very good pies indeed (pastry slightly under) with delicious chips and gravy. Kids menu, has high chairs available and baby changing. Worth a visit! Takes American Express.
