About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Crafty Cold Well Micropub in Monkseaton – it's such a delightful find if you're after a proper cosy pub experience. I love how they've got this brilliant array of drinks, especially the well-kept real ales served straight from the wood, which really hit the spot for anyone who appreciates a good pint. The staff are an absolute joy, always up for a natter and making everyone feel right at home, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs too, so you can bring the whole gang along. The atmosphere is spot on with its modern decor, comfy seats, and even some games to keep things lively, plus it's conveniently placed near the Metro for an easy visit. On the downside, though, it's only open in the evenings and not every day, which can be a bit frustrating if you're hoping for a quick stop during the day. And without a website or phone number, it's not the easiest to get the lowdown on what's happening, so you might end up playing it by ear. All in all, it's a gem worth seeking out, but just keep those opening times in mind for a smooth visit – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of beers and ales from local breweries and bigger names like Tiny Rebel, making it a real treat for ale enthusiasts
  • Super friendly staff who create a welcoming and chatty atmosphere, like chatting with old mates
  • Dog-friendly setup, ideal if you're popping in with your four-legged friend for a pint
  • Lovely vibe with modern decor, comfy seating, and plenty of space to relax or play games
  • Great spot in Monkseaton, just a short walk from the Metro, making it easy to find and visit
Cons
  • Limited opening hours, only in the evenings from around 4pm to 10pm and not every day, so it might not suit spontaneous plans
  • No website or phone number listed, which makes it a bit of a hassle to check the latest details or book ahead
  • The business isn't claimed online, so updates might not be as reliable, potentially leaving you in the dark about changes

Stoumbled accross this micro pub the other day. Modern decor inside, comfy with plenty of room to sit. Freindly staff and a good selections of ales from local breweies to some of your bigger breweries like Tiny Rebel. About a 10 minute walk from Monkseaton Metro its definatly worth a visit and I'll be back.
