About This Pub

Ah, Queensway – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a relaxed get-together in Scunthorpe. From what I've gathered, the staff are absolute gems; they're quick to help and make sure everyone's happy, whether you're after a vegan option or just a chat over drinks. The food's a highlight too – think tasty breakfasts and meals that fill you up without breaking the bank, especially with those weekday deals at £10 a pop. And the atmosphere? It's buzzing with quizzes, karaoke, and sports on the telly, making it ideal for families or mates catching up. It's conveniently placed near a park, so you could pop in after a walk. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; there've been grumbles about cold or poorly prepared dishes, like a dodgy full English that left one visitor fuming. Service can lag a bit when things get hectic, so if you're planning a visit during peak times, maybe keep expectations in check. Still, with a solid 4.2 rating from heaps of reviews, it's clear most people leave with a smile, and I'd say it's worth a try for a proper pub experience – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a grand time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are always friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home – they're great with dietary needs like being vegan-friendly.
  • The food is generally spot on, with hearty meals and breakfasts that come out hot, quick, and in good portions, plus deals like tucking in for just £10 on weekdays.
  • It's got a vibrant atmosphere with fun events like pub quizzes, karaoke nights, and live sports on Sky and TNT, so there's something for everyone.
  • Family-friendly vibe and top-notch facilities, including disabled access, WiFi, and a car park, plus it's right next to a lovely park for a pre or post-visit stroll.
  • Overall, it's a welcoming spot for a casual meal or drink, with a solid 4.2 rating showing most folks have a great time.
Cons
  • There have been a few mishaps with food, like one instance where a breakfast was cold and undercooked – not ideal for a relaxing outing.
  • Service might not hold up as well when it's busy, as some have mentioned it's quicker during quieter times, so you could face waits if the place is buzzing.
  • It's not perfect every visit, with at least one person vowing never to return after a bad experience, which makes you wonder about consistency.

As a local this is always my go to for a hearty meal, good drinks and friendly staff. The atmosphere is always vibrant. Between pub quiz days and karaoke nights there's a little something for everyone at Queensway. Plus as a vegan they don't mind me being picky and always are accommodating.

Went with friends for lunch. Food was great. Lovely and hot. Table checked to make sure everything was ok. Took order at table for puddings. Staff friendly. Definitely recommend a visit.

We ordered full English breakfast. We received in large plates: 1 x small egg, 1 x sausage, 2 x hashbrowns, 5 x small uncooked covered in dirt mushrooms, a spoon of baked beans and 2 x bacons... food was cold. I would not recommend to eat there and we will never visit that place again. Avoid! There's no button to attach photo as a proof of dirt on mushrooms...

My nearest pub and one I'm more than happy with, breakfast for my wife and me have been great, service is always good but we only tend to go at quieter times so couldn't comment how easy it is to get served when it's busy. BTW if you want to sit down and have a breakfast this is far quicker service than Macdonald's (the not so fast fast food chain)
