About This Pub
You know, I had a cracking time at the Prince of Wales the other day, and it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway. The staff are dead helpful and make you feel welcome straight off, which is always a plus when you're settling in for a pint or a bite. Their menu's full of those comforting pub favourites that never disappoint – think tasty mains and desserts that leave you with a full tummy and a smile. It's especially good if you're out with the family, as they've got options for everyone, including kids, and even some events like poker nights to add a bit of fun. The outdoor area is a real treat when the weather's on your side, giving it that extra relaxed feel. On the downside, it's a fair way out from the hustle of central Oxford, so it might not be the easiest spot to pop into spontaneously, and those Sunday food hours can cut things short if you're in the mood for a linger. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after good value and a friendly atmosphere without any fuss.

Hi . Had a lovely 3 course meal at Prince of wales , horsepath rd. Service was the best, wow , the breaded brie wedges was so lovely, turkey meal was delicious , veg perfect , dessert spot on , a group of 4 , nothing left on all 4 plates and very full tummy's 😃. Service excellent, lovely friendly staff, christmas table setting and even a cracker . Very friendly pub 🐈. Would love a second Christmas dinner 🎄.
We watched a cup final here with our family. The service was brilliant ( the result was good too!).
I had a decent steak and ale pie. The childrens meals are verye reasonable and were enjoyed by my kids.
Lovely friendly pub.
Looking forward to the next football game we can watch here over a meal.
We had never been to this pub before-I only chose it as it was a halfway meeting point so my brother could drop off my parents to travel back with me.The pub we usually use was closed...their loss but P.O.W gain as we will definitely be using them from now on!
I almost forgot to take a photo of my meal...Halloumi & Avocado salad ..which was delicious.(Please note the photo is after I had started to tuck in!) My parents & brother chose food from the Senior menu which they all enjoyed.Good portion sizes and well presented.
We received great service from landlords/hosts Bruno & Anna...at the bar & in the restaurant..nothing was too much trouble-they even remembered me phoning prior to our visit to make sure they were open.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we got the impression it was a really well cared for & well run pub....hence the 5 stars!
There is only 1 problem....its too far away to be our local!!
We al agreed that we wished we had a pub like this on our doorstep...
Hopefully we can visit again when I next collect my parents for a holiday with us!
