About This Pub

Ah, the Premier Inn in Sale – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate when you're after a straightforward stay in the Greater Manchester area. I have to say, the staff really stand out; they're so approachable and eager to help, like that lovely Sara who sorted out a smooth check-in for one guest and made their visit memorable. The rooms are just what you'd hope for – clean, cosy, with a decent bed and all the essentials like free Wi-Fi and a strong shower to wash away the day's hustle. And let's not forget the free parking, which is a godsend if you're driving in for a match or a bit of sightseeing. On the flip side, though, the restaurant and bar situation is where it loses a step; you might find it closed at odd times or face waits that drag on, and the breakfast can be a letdown with limited fresh options and some items not quite up to scratch. Still, if you're just using it as a base rather than a full dining destination, it's a solid pick – I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area, but maybe plan your meals elsewhere to keep things sweet.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and helpful, like Sara who went above and beyond to make stays more pleasant.
  • Rooms are super comfy with free Wi-Fi, a powerful shower, and handy tea and coffee facilities for a relaxing unwind after a day out.
  • Free on-site parking is a real bonus, especially if you're popping over for events like football at Old Trafford.
  • It's got a great spot in Sale, making it convenient for exploring Manchester, and they offer accessible and family-friendly rooms to suit different needs.
Cons
  • The restaurant and bar can be a bit unreliable – sometimes it's closed during the day or has long waits, which puts a damper on things.
  • Breakfast options fall short; no fresh croissants or proper eggs, and even gluten-free choices might come out frozen or underwhelming.
  • No complimentary water in the rooms, so you might end up needing to dash out for basics, which feels a tad stingy.
  • Service can be inconsistent overall, with some experiences feeling rushed or disappointing despite the team's efforts.

Paid for full english breakfast , hob is not working so there is no croissant, pain au chocolat , blueberry muffin, poached eggs or boiled , the gluten free bread is upon request and likely frozen as even if you do not want it toasted it comes like this. What is really upsetting is that despite having this problem, they keep charging people that are coming in for the first time without mentioning it. So location good, otherwise smells and lots of flies in reception. Breakfast - well half of the options are not existent , making it very expensive and a very limited unlimited breakfast 😂

Whitbred are single handedly ruining the experience. Closing adjoining eateries. 1 hour wait for starters. Staff (whom are great) and very pleasant bearing the brunt off the resulting poor service. Strike this one off at all costs. RIP premier inn.

Stayed overnight to watch the football. Staff were very helpful, Sara in particular was lovely. Very friendly and made the stay very pleasant. Had breakfast at Brewers Fayre next door...couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend.

Can't speak highly enough of both Sara and Adrian. We needed a room just for the day as a relative was having an operation. Sara made sure, even though we were arriving the next morning, that we would be checked in the night before and that the room remained free for us. Amazing service and a great personality. Same goes for Adrian who was super friendly and professional at breakfast.

Friendly staff and comfy room. Car Parking good. But the so called restaurant / bar is closed most of the day. You are effectively told when you may eat and drink. No complimentary water in the room so I had to drive around the area after arrival to find a place to eat and drink. Hank Marvin ? Then try elsewhere.
